  • The new building is very spacious bathroom has a shower stall wall, bidet and washing machine. The basin is circular (it is a typical container Pugliese said 'Limmo') and rests on a large wooden table. To access the bathroom there are 2 steps, for this reason the building is not suitable for people with disabilities. The bathroom has a small shower of Trullo, the 'Limmo' above the wooden floor and Arabian style bidet (with a tap sciacquino to use the toilet). It 'was formed inside the turret Ostunense, a typical architecture of Puglia circular. Although originally it was communicating with the Trullo. Outside is another comfortable shower, a double sink for dishes and a service sink.

  • The room from the bed of the 'new building is much larger than the double bed and 1 single bed, or may contain from 1 1/2. The arrangement of beds is flexible, it must agree in advance. In the same building there is a large kitchen and a bathroom with washing machine. In Trullo beds are within the ancient alcoves (sometimes stone) and there is a large room with 1 large bedroom alcove. In the adjoining room, separated by a stone archway with no door, there is a room with 2 single alcoves (width 1.0 m and 1.8 m long), separated by a fireplace. Obviously there is a large bathroom. Lamia in the bedroom can have 1 or 2 double beds. In the adjoining sitting room is a stone sink. The Trullo and Lamia are part of this historic complex and the doors are 2 m apart. The 'new building is separated from the historical complex of 1 pitch, 1 terrace and 8 steps (about 15 m).

With regard to the heating, necessary in the winter months, is only available in the Palace again. The Lamia is well heated by an electric heater. The Trullo may be heated by the fireplace and heaters, however, being very large environment and having the chimney always open, I do not recommend the use if the temperature is too rigid. For this reason, in the winter season, we rent more willing to at most 4 people. The tap water comes from a tanker, new and very large, and is rain water or well water supplied by a truck in the dry season. It 's clean water but not drinking. This situation is common in country houses of Puglia saw that there comes the line of the aqueduct.

From California to Italy

"My husband & I felt very fortunate to have found such a nice trullo for our stay in Puglia. It really gave us the architectural experience we were hoping for. Our accommodation was much larger than expected and provided us with everything we needed. The entire complex & grounds really was just for us…not like some trullo rentals that are divided amongst other guests. There are 2 bikes in the garage that we never got around to using. Maybe next time! The location was very quiet since it is out in the country. You do need a car to get around here. But many of the major towns to explore are only 10-30 minutes away. Although we arrived a few hours earlier than expected, the owner (Raphaella) was very accommodating. While the housekeeper finished getting the house ready for us, we were able to leave the luggage on the premises so we could explore nearby Ostuni (7km away). We definitely hope to come back here some day to do more exploring. "

Toller Urlaub in Apulien

  • 5 of 5

Wondeful, relaxing Trulli house

  • 5 of 5

Raffaella's Trulli house is wonderful and well located, just 7 km from Ostuni. . It is set in a very tranquil spot amidst olive trees and has lovely views across open farmland. The Trulli is very comfortable, clean and spacious. There are numerous seating areas, hammocks and sun chairs and plenty of shady trees to sit under. It is a great place to relax and unwind. I would highly recommend it.

Sleeping in a truli is a unique experience

  • 5 of 5

This is truely a unique and special property just outside of a beautiful town. Sleeping in a Trulli is a very nice experience and really make the southern Italy experience so complete. Both the host and the contact person were very helpfull, present when needed and quick to answer any questions we had. I also appreciated the variety of the plants on the property; walnut, almond and olive trees and fresh herbs such as Rosemary and Marjorin for use. There is a very nice barbecue, offering a lovely place to sit at night..... very good contact with the host and owner. They really did their best to make our stay as comfortable and nice as possible. The size of the property and the location; conveniently far from town (we are outdoor people), but the proximity to small stores and gas station close. Sleeping in a truli is a unique experience. Accessibility to bikes and childrens games (balls etc) especially useful as we came with our two kids. The host is very well aware of the property and has clearly has years of experience renting it to guests. It shows that it is a place that is well taken care of and clearly a pride and joy of the family.

Bellissima vacanza in agosto in un posto isolato

  • 5 of 5

Our little paradise Puglia is located on the edge of the Valle d'Itria in the province of Brindisi. It is 7 km from Ostuni, Cisternino and Ceglie, 15 km from the Adriatic Sea and 45 from the Ionian Sea. It consists of 3 buildings connected by stairs, terraces and pitches. All around olive trees, walnuts, almonds, figs india, within 12. 000 m² of land bounded by stone walls. The resort is Cervarolo Contrada, whose name recalls the presence of deer in the last layers of the Murgia, when it was still covered with forests. The first buildings of this area dates from the sixteenth century. The rolling hills of the district still have a low population density. The territory is divided into parcels of about 10. 000 m² with its home. Many are still frequented by the former owners, at least in summer. Others, like mine, have been purchased and restored not only by Italians. The complex enjoys a wonderful southern exposure and is located about 300 meters above sea level, dominating the district with its large cone. Surely it was inhabited from 1800 and was a landmark for the neighborhood because of its wood oven, one of the area. Even today it can happen that some old lady arrives on a visit to remember the past ... and poke around a bit.
