Alongside a refreshing mountain stream and its neighbouring forest, Karma Zoura is nestled at the very top of Ayer (alt. 1570m).
The chalet is new (2011). Built with care and first rate materials, its old larch beams and wooden floors contribute to the feeling of cosyness and well-being. The interior is snug and carefully planned for your comfort. Stunning mountain views over towards Grimentz.
Ideal for up to four people, Karma Zoura is perfectly suited for nature loving individuals who enjoy hiking, climbing high peaks (4000m) or reading in the sun.
The ground floor is open plan with a sitting area, dining area and kitchen opening onto a grassed terrace. The sitting area has a comfortable sofa and wood burning stove.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms; one a double, the other with bunk beds. The bathroom is fully equipped.
Here, wilderness rhymes with civilization (walk to shop, forest on one side, chalets on the other).
Parking space is provided adjacent to the chalet.
Caroline and Marc have bought and restored chalet Karma Zoura in 2009. They rent the chalet during the spring and summer season since 2012. Since then, tenants from all over the world (USA, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Norway, India, Australia) have spent their vacation in chalet KZ.
We are proud that so many people had the chance to enjoy the Swiss Alps from our little cosy place in the Val d'Anniviers!
Marc and Caroline live in Geneva (2hours and half from Chalet KZ). Marc is a professional musician and a geologist. Caroline is a math teacher and also runs in the summertime a sailing school on the Lake Leman.
Marc purchased this chalet in 2009
Cute little cottage ideally located and very well designed;
We would gladly this cottage to our friends where everything is designed for an ideal stay
We stayed at the end of summer in this beautifully restored and furnished chalet at the top of Ayer village. Stunning views across the valley; fresh mountain air, and the only sounds the stream, the church bells far below, and the occasional bird. Comfortable and spotless with everything we needed - all the arrangements were perfect, including getting us in food for our stay.
A wonderful centre for summer walking, with free passes for local buses and cable cars and some truly magnificent mountain walks.
Karma Zoura is a lovely chalet in the quiet hamlet of Ayer. The building itself is traditional in style and beautifully constructed. Inside, is a warm and welcoming ambience which strikes a perfect balance between being homely and practical. The owners have left all the things you need for a great stay with a great range of cookware, right through to DVD's and games to play in the evenings. There's beautiful views all around, and plenty of walks nearby. Do be advised that Ayer is quiet and you will need to travel a few kilometres for restaurants and shops and the tranquillity is part of the appeal. We loved our stay and were very sad to leave - would recommend if tranquillity and cosiness are what you are looking for.
Dear Caroline and Marc,
Your chalet is an inspiration. The structure and attention to détail is exquisité and so harmonious. We’re honoured to be your first tenants and have loved staying here. It feels so happy, so friendly and splendidly efficient, we feel totally blessed and full of appréciation.
Over the last two weeks we feel we have walked the entire valley, although sadly didn’t get to try the myrtille tart in the Weisshorn Hotel.
Thanks for the suggestion of climbing the Bishorn – that was the highlight of Richards fortnight. And, if you need a guide for other visitors we would recommend Jerome Lambert. He is friendly and relaxed, speaks very good English and the whole group enjoyed his presence.
We hope we have put everything back in the right place. Please don't hesitate to call if you can't find something.

The chalet is located at the top of the village of Ayer, with very good views to the opposite side of the valley.
We enjoyed the stay very much, both the chalet and the facilities in the valley. We recommend Karma Zoura to everybody who loves nature and walking in the mountains.
Your destination is Ayer, some 2 hours to the East of Geneva beyond Verbier but before Zermatt.
Ayer is a totally unspoilt village in the picturesque valley of the Val d’Anniviers, in the Swiss canton of Valais. Close to Grimentz, St Luc and Zinal, you have a vast choice as far as skiing and hiking are concerned.
The road ends at the chalet, so there is almost no traffic.
Apart from the weather (300 days of sun annually), the skiing, the spectacular landscape, the local culture, the flora and the fauna makes Valais and Ayer, in particular, an exceptional holiday destination both in summer and winter.
Its marvelous location in the middle of the four thousand-metre peaks of the Swiss mountains and its numerous trekking tracks make Ayer a paradise for hikers, with pretty views of the Weisshorn, Matterhorn, etc.
Summer activities include lots of hiking from the chalets, cycling, paragliding, bungee jumping, canyoning, tennis, aerial adventure, mountaineering and much else.
