About Property Manager
À côté is owned and run by Michael and Laurence, who converted what was a workshop into a fully fledged home, shortly after making the move from the South of France to England in 2000. Originally it was developed as a dwelling for Michael's parents, and later was transformed into a holiday rental accommodation. This husband and wife team have been successfully welcoming guests to the cottage since 2011. Over the years it has evolved into a modern cottage while still retaining a country feel. Beaminster might be a small town, but it is vibrant and full of history. The Beaminster museum is a wonderful place to start your exploration of the area, with oodles of very useful and interesting information on the town and the surrounding area. Throughout the year Dorset offers a multitude of events, ranging from sand sculptures and kite flying, to food and literary festivals; every year the town itself hosts the wonderful Festival of Music and Arts. Dorset is home to many talented artists and actors, and if you are lucky, you might during your stay, bump into Martin Clunes, now a Beaminster resident, or Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall.
À côté is situated on the southern edge of Beaminster in glorious rural Dorset. The town boasts independent shops, pubs, restaurants and convenience stores. It is just 8 miles from West Bay, its lovely beach and cliffs and only 6 miles from the small and very busy market town of Bridport - the doorway to the Jurassic Coast Heritage Site.
The history, heritage and the cultural activities of this county make it appealing to all ages with something for children, youngsters and the not so young.
