James and Fleur
About James and Fleur
Fleur James William and Madelene moved to Little Goonreeve Farm in 2007. Fleur grew up in the farm down the hill from us (Barras Moor Farm) with her 3 sisters. We spent the early years of our married life in Middlesex trying to work out how we could manage a move to Cornwall and took the plunge when our eldest ,William, was about to start secondary school.
James and Fleur purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why James and Fleur chose Saint Gluvias
We knew and loved the area so the problem was to find a house. It took us a year and we ended up in almost the first one we ever saw which Fleur remembered from her youth. It was in a sorry state but with a lot of hard work we have stripped back and rebuilt four separate dwellings.
What makes this Cottage unique
We were attracted to Little Goonreeve Farm because it had changed little since the 1950's when the Milking Parlour in the middle of the yard was built. One of our aims of the restoration was to keep the essence of a small working farm. As a family we also care about the providence of food and have benefited from the rearing of livestock in a low intensive environment. We love our farm and aim to pass that onto our guests. We also realise that people have worked hard for their holiday and everyone enjoys a bit of luxury now and then.

We had an amazing stay in the Granite Barn. The property was clean, bright, and even more beautiful in person than in the photographs. James and Fleur were warm and welcoming. We had nice conversations with them and a few of their relatives while wandering the farm and the gardens. The location gave us easy driving access to Falmouth, Truro, and various other sites on the Lizard and further west. Truly wonderful!
Fleur and James run the most incredible holiday cottages. Every detail has been considered and provided for, from dog towels to baby equipment. The photos of the barn do it no justice, nor Fleur’s impeccable taste. As well as being beautifully converted and decorated, it is also well equipped, comfortable and easy. The children loved the animals and the setting is just lovely whilst also really convenient for all that the area has to offer. So many thanks for a wonderful short break.
Perfect Cornish holiday getaway
What a beautiful place to enjoy a family holiday in Cornwall. We loved it!
The barn has been lovingly converted, finished to a high standard and was immaculately clean which was so impressive when we had only booked 24 hours beforehand. Thank you James and Fleur for being such welcoming hosts and accommodating us at such short notice.
We loved staying on a farm and being able to feed the animals and collect the eggs everyday was an added delight for our 6 year old son. The barn had everything you needed including the most comfortable beds we have ever had in a holiday cottage and we have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages over the years. The bedlinen and towels were to such a high standard which makes all the difference.
We have discovered a beautiful part of Cornwall away from the crowds and we definitely hope to return.
We had had an awful experience last year in North Wales with our holiday cottage so I was very nervous booking a holiday this year. So thank you so much Fleur and James we are so glad we chose your farm.
Great base to explore from
A lovely stay at this well equipped cottage which is perfectly placed to explore all parts of Cornwall. James and Fleur were very accommodating hosts and our 4 year old son really enjoyed being shown the animals and collecting hens eggs. We highly recommend purchasing some of the farm eggs and sausages for the perfect start to the day and very much enjoyed the complimentary cake and tea and coffee on arrival! Plenty to see and do near by and a good selection of shops and facilities should you need anything! Hopefully we will be back!
Comfortable rural hideaway not far from Falmouth
Very clean property throughout.
The kitchen well equipped and showers are amazing.
The log burner was another plus point.
All products are green which is nice to see.
Our older kids happy with Wi-Fi speed as often in rural settings the speed is painfully slow.
Younger kids would love the farm animals. We enjoyed the fresh eggs you can buy.
Owners James and Fleur are very friendly, helpful and at hand when you need something.
Not far from great coastal walks and coastal pubs.
A car is a necessity but there are lots of things to do close by.
Would definetly recommend this property.
I’m glad you enjoyed yourselves. Please come again.
Delightful barn conversion
We enjoyed our family reunion here, our 8 year old was heartbroken to be parted from the ponies at the end of the trip and loved the farm environment. Adults enjoyed the high quality accommodation with abundant hot water, great water pressure and well equipped kitchen. Quiet location, accessible to Falmouth and the surrounding areas. Fine hospitality, good service and we had fun!
Thanks for a great review. It’s good to know that you enjoyed your reunion. The Granite Barn is a great space for family get togethers.
The Granite Barn is part of a traditional 'old style' farmyard. There is another granite farm building (The Old Farm Cottage) which is available and sleeps 4. They are ideally placed to experiance the best that Cornwall has to offer. We are situated on the rolling green hills of the Mylor downs equidistant between the historic town of Falmouth and Truro. The safe family beaches of the south coast are close (3 Miles) and the more wilder surfing beaches of the North coast are a short drive away. (9 miles). Learn to sail from Mylor Sailing school or just hire a canoe and Paddle to our local pub. The famous waterside 'Pandora Inn' overlooking the beautiful Restronguet Creek and the Carrick Roads. There are a wealth of beaches, creeks and stunning scenery to explore. The beaches of Gyllynvase and Maenporth are local. Pendower and Rosevine are short ferry ride to the Roseland Peninsular. Keep an eye on the weather. When the 'surfs up' go to Perranporth, Fistral or Gwithian beaches for surfing. These are just a fraction of possibilities. Cycle the Bisso or the Camel bike trail. Have Fish and chips at Rick Steins in Padstow or Falmouth. Visit the gardens of Trellisic, Glendurgan,Trebah or Heligan. Go to the Maritime Museum in Falmouth after the Oyster festival. Go to a 'gig' in a multitude of places including Miss Peapods (our local venue for live music). There is plenty to do to suit a variety of tastes and interests. Or just sit back and relax back at the Farm. It's your holiday.
