In just a short stroll you can be on the famous Siesta white sand beach or in the quaint Siesta village for everything you may need including great restaurants and shops.
And don't forget beautiful downtown Sarasota and bay front is just over the bridge. It is just a short drive for a unique cultural experience from the Ringling Museum, multiple theatres, ballet, orchestra, opera, gorgeous Selby Gardens, and endless dining and shopping options.
The Lilly Patch on Palm Island (2Bed/2Bath - sleeps 4-5)
Situated in the quiet and secluded neighborhood of Palm Island, the Lilly patch is a cozy pecky cypress with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Hardwood floors throughout add to its charm. Double sets of French doors lead from the living and dining rooms onto the large private Mexican tiled screened porch surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. The master bedroom has a stall shower with an outside entrance to an outdoor shower. With only a couple of blocks to the famous Siesta beach and island village - it is a perfect winter getaway.

We are Ali, Rich and Chloe Jane Light. We moved to Siesta Key in 1997 and have never looked back. We absolutely love living here and sharing our paradise with our guests. We have been renting our six cosy bungalows since 1998. Ali is an artist and has drawn inspiration for colors and design of our bungalows from our travels to Hawaii, Ireland, and the British Virgin Islands. Rich was a custom design home builder and landlord for many years in the Philadelphia region, so together we have found the perfect match for having beach rentals.

When we moved to Siesta Key in 1997 we knew that we wanted to be able to share this gorgeous area with others and having rentals seemed to be the perfect way.
The unique benefit of staying at our properties are the ability to walk right to the beach and village, or we provide bicycles so you can explore the island. We are always available and live just a few doors away from most of our places. We are always excited to share our favorite places and restaurants so even our single guests feel like they have family here.
My wife and I spent three months in TROPICAL HIDEAWAY COTTAGE and enjoyed everything about the house and the location. The yard is fenced so our little dog had a wonderful and safe visit also. Rich and Ali Light had remodeled the kitchen and baths just before we arrived and everything was clean, fresh and comfortable. The house is surrounded by lush vegetation, gravel paths and there is even a small waterfall/pond.
This is a comfortable, secluded location and only a short walk to the Siesta Key Beach. Siesta Key village is nearby with nightlife, restaurants, grocery, hardware, drug stores and a bank. All the wonderful attractions of Sarasota are 10 - 15 minutes away.
We loved our visit and are signed for next winter. Great house, great location and wonderful landlords. Happy restful vacation!
My husband and I spent a glorious nine days in the Garden Terrace. As promised, Rich greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. He is as attentive as you want him to be. If you need something or have a question he is right on top of it. If you want to be left alone he will respect your privacy. The studio was clean and well equipped. It actually came with more amenities than we were expecting. There were bikes, beach chairs, a gas grill. Rich happily lent us his canoe for a delightful paddle in the canals. Garden Terrace is very private and quiet. I used the outside shower every day and it was refreshing. The ten minute walk to the beach was mellow, as was the beach. No crowds at this end. We walked to town almost every night for dinner, sometimes by beach for the sunset... ah... Rich quickly returned our security deposit. We will be back!
My partner and I stayed at Fern Haven for the first 2 weeks in March. It was exactly as described, clean and comfortable. We particularly loved the seclusion and the lush landscaping. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the deck, grilling out and spending time in the Hot Tub. For us, it was about a 15minute walk to the beach . We were glad to have brought a beach cart with us. 10 minute walk to the Village. Parking at the beach and the Village is at a premium so being able to walk to both was a bonus. Bikes and a Kayak were provided. Owner friendly and helpful.
My daughter and I have never been to the area. The owners were very helpful by providing some excellent key 'must dos' for the short amount of time we were visiting.
The bungalow was close to the village and the beach. The unit came furnished with bikes and beach chairs. We had a delightful time and would definitely visit again.
When we showed up with a Publix run, Rich helpfully offered a back up fridge to supplement the small fridge in the unit.
We had a fabulous time thanks to the owners, the close proximity to everything and the comfort of the bungalow. We would go back!
We recently stayed at the Blue Lagoon house for 2 months. We had a wonderful time! The owners Rich and Ali are very nice, helpful and accommodating. The house is extremely comfortable and cozy and it was so nice to be able to stretch out with a large screened in porch, 2 good size bedrooms and living areas and 2 bathrooms. It was also so nice to have a kitchen where we could cook many of our meals. The location of the house is excellent, within walking distance or a short drive to the beach and the village where there are many great restaurants and bars. The owners, house and location were all amazing and we can't wait to come back next year.
I had a very relaxing enjoyable vacation at the Lilly Patch with the greatest people in the greatest village by the greatest beach in the greatest neighborhood.
Ali and Rich and the Lilly Patch were a real joy. Comfortable, clean house and they were there for anything I needed including borrowing paper for my computor.
They are great host. So open and sharing and they make you feel very comfortable.
I felt like I was living in a garden as I sat on the lovely brick porch.
Love the out door shower. I am looking forward to coming back next year.
