Everything we needed was here! Kitchen was fully stocked, the beds were really comfortable,

We loved how quiet everything was. No motors in the lake so it was very peaceful and safe to kayak and swim. The kitchen was large and well stocked. Appreciated the extra refrigerator/freezer!

Great Poconos Lake House!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in 5 different lake houses over the past few years and this is definitely our favorite house!

It was a very pleasant stay for our family! The house was spotless and there were excellent directions posted throughout the house for how to operate things or where to find supplies. We had 3 children and 5 adults, including my parents who are in their 70’s (and my mom has limited mobility) and there was plenty of room for all of us. We appreciated the separate spaces of the house, especially the upstairs rooms and the living room which gave us places where we could “escape” from each other at times! We enjoyed fishing off the dock, swimming in the lake, and rowboating and kayaking ardound the lake! For the kids, we were glad that the water was not deep around the dock. We kayaked and walked over to the nearby public beach--which was only a 5-minute walk from the house--for a different environment and had fun jumping off the floating dock. Our family enjoyed having a campfire in the firepit each night and sitting on the porch and watching some amazing sunsets (and thunderstorms!) over the lake! We bought fire wood from the man living nearby-only a 2-minute walk and had plenty for the week. The kids had foosball tournaments, played games from the large selection they supplied in the dining room cabinet, loved the tree swing and hammock, and had fun running around the large backyard. It was fabulous to have the convenience of 2 full-size refrigerators! We took a “field trip” to the nearby Hickory Run State Park, where we climbed on the humongous boulder field and went swimming at the sandy beach! Kristen and Mike Fisher, the owners, were fantastic to work with—communication was excellent all along the booking process and they were very responsive to some small questions we had during our stay—even arranging a Drain-o delivery for us! All in all, it was a very pleasant stay for our family and are hoping to return in 2018!

Mother's Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Overall rating is 5 stars as property was exactly as described in listing with respect to location, layout of the property and the amenities provided. The wireless internet service was adequate, even when all six adults were on line at the same time at certIn points during our stay. We were able to enjoy the outdoor portion of the property Friday afternoon and evening (using the fire pit Friday night), and on Sunday during the brief periods without rain. We can only imagine what an amazing property this is during warmer and much dryer weather, being able to make use of the boats and the private beach. The property is well stocked for cooking all meals in the kitchen as well as grilling. The only suggestions we have is that it would have been nice to have at least one or two additional garbage bags provided for the trash and recyclables, which wasn't a problem because of having to visit the grocery store to buy other items, but more importantly, water flow limiters should be installed in the bathroom showers because the water heater wasn't sufficient for six adults to be able to take showers one right after the other without the hot water running out. Many games that are on site weren't able to be played because of some missing items, but plenty of cards, including Skip-Bo, are available and we had two fun-filled evenings playing cards. Also, puzzles on site seemed to be mixed together except for one 1,000 piece puzzle that we all worked on during the rain Saturday afternoon. We wouldn't have known anything about the games or the puzzles if the weather hadn't have been so rainy, and we are not complaining about the games or the puzzles, just giving feedback. Would definitely recommend this property to everyone and there was very good contact between the owners and us throughout the entire process. It was a great time and we would do it all over again! Thank you for providing such an awesome property that met all expectations as defined in the listing.

This house is great. Very clean (my top priority)!

  • 5 of 5

My family, parents and brother's family just hit Penn Lake for the second year in a row! The house has 2 kayaks and a row boat which were used extensively by my brother's fishing family. My favorite feature is the porch where you can sit and sip your coffee in the morning and your cocktail in the evening while enjoying the amazing lake view! We went to Lake Harmony one day to paddle board and Penn Lake is so much better with their no power boats policy! We also hiked Glen Onoko Falls in Jim Thorpe (between porch time). The owners were easy to get in touch with and timely with communication.

Our Wonderful Experience at Penn Lake House

  • 5 of 5

It was a wonderful experience for us staying at Penn Lake House last weekend. We reneted the house for two nights and had a great time. The house is beautifully located on the lake front and the owners Kristen and Mike Fisher provided a 6 people rowing boat and two kayaks with all required accessories and life jackets. Our group spent more than 10 hours on the lake. The back yard is spacious for other fun activities and partying. The house is well maintained and is good for a group size of 12.

I would recommend anyone looking for a nice vacation spot this summer can condiser this house.

Oweners are awesome and responds very quick to the enquiries and needs.

Cheers!
