Everything is as advertised. This was our 3rd stay and we will be back!
My family, parents and brother's family just hit Penn Lake for the second year in a row! The house has 2 kayaks and a row boat which were used extensively by my brother's fishing family. My favorite feature is the porch where you can sit and sip your coffee in the morning and your cocktail in the evening while enjoying the amazing lake view! We went to Lake Harmony one day to paddle board and Penn Lake is so much better with their no power boats policy! We also hiked Glen Onoko Falls in Jim Thorpe (between porch time). The owners were easy to get in touch with and timely with communication.
It was a wonderful experience for us staying at Penn Lake House last weekend. We reneted the house for two nights and had a great time. The house is beautifully located on the lake front and the owners Kristen and Mike Fisher provided a 6 people rowing boat and two kayaks with all required accessories and life jackets. Our group spent more than 10 hours on the lake. The back yard is spacious for other fun activities and partying. The house is well maintained and is good for a group size of 12.
I would recommend anyone looking for a nice vacation spot this summer can condiser this house.
Oweners are awesome and responds very quick to the enquiries and needs.

This is a cute little house on a great piece of property right against the lake. The listing is spot on and the owners do a fantastic job with instructions before, during and after your stay. The boats for the lake look like fun (it was frozen over still). It is a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Enjoy the setting and relax.
upon arriving in penn lake we were taken a back at how perfect not only the house was, but the property as a whole. often things like this that are found online aren't always as advertised; this penn lake property is a sure fire exception to that. I chose this home to celebrate my girlfriends birthday, we are all in our late twenties, we had 10 people in our party, and everyone was cozy as can be, it slept us all perfectly and by no means were we lacking space. although the weather was quite frigid we were still drawn to the outside, there's something about that backyard and the views of beautiful penn lake that made it hard to stay indoors. now speaking of the inside, it was fully stocked with anything we needed, plates, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, some spices for cooking, board games, pillows, blankets, and if you are up there in the winter don't worry about the house being chilly because it was toasty, the gas fireplace in the living room made sure of that. we also did a little exploring around the neighborhood; there's a quaint little food market about ten minutes away that has anything you'd need, around that same area theres a few cool bars, but if youre looking for a drink id recommend taking the 20 minute drive to Wilkes-Barre and visit breaker brewing company, great food, great brews. in closing I would recommend this property to anyone who's looking to get away, Karen and mike made booking this property a painless process and myself and the rest of my party is already trying to plan to go back once the weather gets warm.
The house is fantastic with so many amenities and, it was super clean! Penn Lake is a quiet, peaceful community with lots to do...fishing, swimming, hiking and boating. There are 2 private bedrooms with queen sized beds. The upstairs is great for kids but there is little privacy (not a complaint, just an FYI). We would go back again in a heartbeat.
