2 bedroom, 1 bathroom ideal for couples or those exploring with a young child
- english, french
We are a family with two young children who moved to the beautiful village of Wootton Rivers from London in 2016 and haven't looked back! We'd love to share it with you.
Owner purchased this Cottage in 2018
Why Owner chose Wiltshire
The Old Chapel was originally converted into a dwelling in the early eighties. We had the opportunity to purchase the property in early 2018 and as its latest guardians we renovated and reconfigured the conversion to make better use of the space available and bring the decor up to date. The location in the heart of this very pretty village is wonderful with beautiful walks and cycle rides from the door step and views down the garden across open fields.
What makes this Cottage unique
As part of the renovation we were able to reveal some of the original chapel features which had been hidden for the past 35 years, such as one of the arched windows going up the stairs and exposing the A-frames in the ceilings upstairs. We have turned it into a comfortable retreat, with stylish decor, underfloor heating in the bathroom and luxury, 100% cotton bed linen and towels. There is also an extensive garden with stunning views across open country side which can be seen through the french windows as soon as you step through the front door.

Charming chapel in perfect village
The Chapel is a comfortable and stylish place to stay, in a very quiet village where many of the houses are thatched, including the pub which serves a varied menu. A canal runs through one end of the village, offering easy walking and there are many other places to walk too. We visited Marlborough, it was market day, nice cafes and shops. We found more to do in Wiltshire than we had time for- we visited Lacock and Stourhead gardens -passing Stonehenge on the way. We wished we’d had longer and would happily stay at the Chapel again, a perfect place.
