About Matthew Turner

My name is Matthew, I am an English man of 41 years old, who loves the Spanish lifestyle and sun. I wanted a piece of it for myself and spent a long time researching exactly where I wanted to have my villa. I have painstakingly restored it and try to have as much time enjoying it as I can.

Matthew Turner purchased this villa in 2010

Why Matthew Turner chose Jávea

I have owned this villa since 2010, having bought it in a run down state. Since then it has been completely renovated and made into a beautiful family villa with the addition of a pool for all to enjoy. The villa is very private, in a quiet residential area which is part of the National park of Cap de la Nao. However, it is only a walk (or short drive) to the buzz of the sea front Arenal where there are white sandy beaches, palm trees and bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Just a short walk or drive away, you can find yourself in more remote areas with beautiful scenery to explore, including the national park of mount Montgó. Picturesque Javea has plenty for all, but for the more adventurous visitors, the water and theme parks of Benidorm are only a 45 minute drive or easy bus journey away...perfect for a fun filled day out and then the chance to relax by the pool with a BBQ on the go.

What makes this villa unique

Whilst I live in England, there is always help on hand - should it be needed - with our friendly property manager who is just across the road. There is also plenty of information in the villa about days out and things to do. I am always happy to advise on these if there is any gaps in the information provided, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Excellent holiday villa

  • 4 of 5

With three generations it was important we could all enjoy the villa , we did!

Enough space and a lovely pool. Seeking perfection, some minor quibbles but everything worked which is a big plus. and would recommend it to anyone.

Great Villa in lovely location with some stunning views of Mongo

  • 4 of 5

Has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. A few too many steps for the not so young or disabled and not everywhere is child friendly but for able bodied adults Casa Amelia is perfect. Had a wonderful 12 days and would definitely return thanks Matt.

Amazing villa - exceeds all expectations!!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time with a few friends at this beautiful villa. It was very clean and tidy and in terms of facilities it has everything you need and more. The outdoor seating area is amazing, with a large BBQ and decent sized pool. It is in a great location - very peaceful and quiet, and easy to get to the local hotspots - nice beaches, restaurants/bars and also Mount Montgo. The host Matt is a fantastic guy - very friendly, responsive to any comments and he went out of his way to make our stay as enjoyable as it was. Highly recommended to anyone wishing to stay in Javea.

The Costa Blanca or White Coast extends along the eastern coast of Spain (approximately in the middle) and covers the province of Alicante.

The Costa Blanca is not as cold or wet in the winter as the Costa Brava, north of Costa Blanca, nor is it as humid or hot in the summer as the Costa del Sol, in the south. The Costa Blanca has the best all year round temperatures. The climate is recognized as one of the best in the world by the World Health Organization. In the winter months the Costa Blanca is lucky enough to have nearly as many sunny days as in the summertime.

The Costa Blanca has over 100 kms of sandy beaches and rocky coves and many of the beaches have the coveted European Blue Flag signifying cleanliness and safe bathing.

There are huge amounts of flights into Alicante airport, especially from Northern Europe. Valencia airport to the north is also well serviced. Further to the south of the Costa Blanca is Murcia airport.

The northern Costa Blanca is typically mountainous with cliffs and coves, a mixture of pebble beaches and fine sandy beaches. North of Altea it is surprisingly very green and lush.

The southern Costa Blanca is mostly flat with fine sandy beaches, palm trees and salt lakes. The south is much drier and more typical of what a person who had never visited Spain would expect to see.

The Costa Blanca has something for everyone from tiny rural inland villages to cosmopolitan tourist resorts on the coast such as Benidorm.

The Costa Blanca isn't necessarily a place one would go to see historical monuments (although there are many). Its attractions lie in its beauty - the amazing vivid blue Mediterranean waters, the lovely sandy beaches, the old towns and villages with their old narrow streets, the restaurants and bars where one can sit and relax outside because of the wonderful all-year round climate. It's simply a wonderful place in which to enjoy life (as we should do but often don't) and feel rejuvenated and refreshed.

The Javea / Toscal area

Javea lies in the shadow of the dominating Montgo Mountain in the northern Costa Blanca and is one of the most popular resorts of the region. The town started attracting north Europeans more than 30 years ago and many of these visitors never left leaving a thriving ex-pat community to this day. But don't let that put you off. Javea is an attractive destination with plenty to offer visitors including some of Spain's finest golden beaches.

Javea is divided into three parts: Javea Pueblo (the old town); Javea Puerto (the bustling port area); and Playa de Arenal (the main beach area). Today the old town and the port are pretty much joined thanks to the property development which has gone on in the town whilst Playa de Arenal lies some 3km along a rocky beach from the Port.

The villa is in a quiet location, but is within walking distance of a supermarket. It is 4 minutes drive to the main frontage of Javea’s Arenal beach, other beaches are just a short drive away. If you do not hire a car, the walk to the beach and the main restaurants takes 30 - 40 minutes, the pebble and rocky beach 15-20 minutes walk. There is a regular bus service running from the local supermarket to the Arenal beach and the port area. Toscamar bar is next to the supermarket which has a large swimming pool and sunbathing facilities and has meals and bar snacks available.

Benidorm is approximately 45 minutes by car away and has many theme parks, which include two water parks(Aqualandia and Aqua Natural), Terra Natura (safari park), Mundomar (similar to Sea world) and Terra Mitica (roller coasters), Alfaz Castle (medieval jousting banquet) and for a great evening in Benidorm the Benidorm Palace is great for a dinner and a show.
