My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed being disconnected from everything. The environment was so peaceful and quiet. Great time!!

Quaint, tranquil & clean!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Cedar Cabin after the Thanksgiving holidays. It was a very comfortable stay! The Cabin is in great condition and clearly very well maintained. The back covered porch was my favorite - since it adds almost double the living space. The cabin is well equipped with everything you might need for a quick getaway. Town is approx 12 minutes away. We would definitely consider coming back! The Owner was very responsive and accomodating. Thank you for the hospitality!!

Cozy, quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved staying here for a couple nights after our wedding! The cabin is beautifully built and has just what you need: a comfortable bed, kitchen, TV, amazing shower, and a huge porch out back. We didn't get to use the hot tub since it was pretty warm the nights we went, but I wish we did! We only went into town to get some food for the night and spent almost all of our time in and around the cabin. Amazing place - would definitely recommend and will likely return for another quick getaway!

Our experience at Cedar cabin was great. We would like to return again.

  • 5 of 5

Cedar cabin sits off of the street and tucked into a beautiful and serene part of the woods. We were so excited to go inside and see what was waiting for us! The inside matched the rustic outside perfectly. The kitchen is cheerful and had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen living room combination is efficient and comfortable with a nice sized TV.

One of our favorite parts of the cabin is the large covered back deck. What a treat to sit and watch wildlife and listen to the sounds of the woods.

We saw two beautiful large bucks, a large boar hog, birds, and a very curious and cute raccoon. A hot tub on the back deck is a great way to relax at the end of the day. The warmth of the sun on the deck not only feels good, but is beautiful as the sun sets. The bedroom has a nice queen bed that is very comfortable, with nice linens. The room has nice natural light coming through the window overlooking the back deck and woods. A dresser to unpack and oeganize clothes, etc., is a also provided. The bathroom is a good size and the design of the shower was very unexpected, a little quirky, but totally fun!

FYI: please USE the bath mat that is provided, as the shower floor can be slippery when wet. We also needed to purchase a 6 foot electrically cord because our blow dryer cord was not long enough to use in the bathroom or in the bedroom. But, other than that .. we had a relaxing mini-vacation in this delightful cabin. The location of the cabin is close to Hill Country towns like: Boerne, Comfort, Gruene and Wimberly. All great places to visit. Make your reservation now and experience what this little cabin in the woods has to offer.

About Justin

The Homestead Cottages include an authentic Hill Country Log Cabin, a Craftsman Cottage and a Tiny Texas House. Choose the unit that best fits your personality! Each one is unique and promises to provide a fantastic setting for your next Hill Country getaway!

Justin purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Justin chose Canyon Lake

We fell in love with the cabin the minute we first walked through the door. There is nothing else like it.

What makes this cabin unique

You will view wildlife right outside the back deck. Deer frequent the property as do birds. The sunset can be seen from the back deck as well. Definitely not a bad way to finish the day - soaking in the hottub and taking in the sunset.

*Wi-Fi Available late November 2015

Guestbook comments from the owner

One of the most relaxing places I have stayed in Texas. Will be back soon! The cabin reminded me of 1800 cabin in the Colorado mountain towns. Very private location and so peaceful. The hot tub was very clean and treated. The cabin was complete with grill and gas, the cabin loaded with pots and pans and linens. Only need to bring food and drinks and you set for a great time.
