About James Masterson
I'm a Navy veteran living in DC since 2012. I served as a surface warfare officer for six years and deployed four times to the Persian Gulf and Somalia. I'm very outgoing and look forward to helping answer any questions you have about your stay at my home. DC is a wonderful city and I'll make sure you make the most of it!
James Masterson purchased this Townhome in 2016
Why James Masterson chose Trinidad
I fell in love with DC from my first visit. The city just has a real family atmosphere to it. Also, I've always loved the concept of rowhouses, and my street in particular features a wide variety of facade colors, designs, and features, giving it a really unique feel. The neighborhood is also one of only a couple that actually feel like a neighborhood, rather than a thruway. When I had the chance in late 2016 to secure a piece of that neighborhood, I jumped at the opportunity!
What makes this Townhome unique
Every home on the street is unique and different, and I really love the personality it brings. I really like the black facade to the home and I think you will to! I also think its so neat that once inside the home, it feels both cozy, spacious, modern and historic. That's what you get with modern restoration in a 100+ year old home. I hope you love the hand-scraped wood floors, wine fridge, exposed brick and modern furniture! (And if you like the decor, please tell me so I can thank my girlfriend)

Perfect DC Location for Young Families
My family, including my 12 year-old and 3 year-old, stayed at James' property for a 3-day vacation last month, and it was a perfect location for us. We had reserved off-street parking, which made trips to and from sight-seeing very smooth, and the open layout of the main floor of the house felt like home to us. In addition, there was ample room inside the house and outside (i.e., covered front porch, fenced backyard, and neighborhood playground one block away) for the kids to play when we returned from our day trips to the museums. We've stayed in several different locations in and around the city before, including Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria, and I have to say that staying at James' property definitely felt the most like having a "home away from home"!
Clean, neat, just as discribed!!!
Beautiful home!!!!! Very well decorated and spacious for 5 adult guests. In town for a wedding and this place’s proximity to the monument, Georgetown and downtown is ideal. A shirt Uber everywhere from this place. James was very accommodating and allowed us to chec in early. Will return!!
Very clean and spacious
Had a great stay in DC. This house was clean/modern/well kept.
Perfect for our wedding party weekend
We live locally in DC, but we chose to stay together with some of our best friends on our wedding party weekend. This house was perfect. We had one minor maintenance issue, which James resolved very quickly. We were so happy with our stay and highly recommend this property! Looks just like the photos.
Great home base for a DC trip
We recently spent 4 nights here when we met our cousins for a trip to the nation's capital. There were 10 of us, and it was perfect for our needs: a clean and quiet place where we could cook at home each night after a day in the city. Communication with the host was excellent. The place is well-stocked, and James is always making improvements (we received an upgraded coffee pot and some additional glasses while there). Highly recommended for travelers to DC.
Beautiful! Just as described.
This was a wonderful house to be able to moved around in for a whole week. With 5 adults it was awesome to have 3 bathrooms to get ready in the morning for a full day of walking. Also if you rent a car it was convenient to have off street parking. James was very helpful and had supplies for washing clothes and using the dishwasher that we did not have to provide. It was quiet at night and the beds were clean and comfortable. The neighbors were friendly and we felt safe walking around the neighborhood. Uber rides to the capital sights ran between $8- $15 for the XL Car. We needed room for 5 adults. Games were provided as well.
