In the historical center of Venice, close to San Marco Square and the Biennale Garden, inside the magical web of streets that connect Riva degli Schiavoni to Arsenal, you find 'Al Pestrin', your home in Venice. It is equipped with internet wi-fi. It has a fully equipped kitchen, living room with sofa/bed and pouf/bed, bathroom with tub, washer and dryer, double bedroom, single bedroom with extra bed. Al Pestrin is well served by supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, shops, banks, baccari (the typical Venetian bars) etc. It is a delightful apartment, bright because it is the 3 rd floor (no elevator), and from its windows you can enjoy a splendid view of the altane, terraces built wooden blinds on the roofs.
I have a degree in Architecture. My profession is journalist. I love to travel.
It was the apartment in which my husband lived before marriage.
It 's very bright and very close to Piazza San Marco and the Biennale Gardens. In the morning and in the evening, you can watch the magnificent spectacle of sunrise and sunset along the Riva degli Schiavoni, with the sun rising from the east and sets in the west reflecting on the water of the lagoon.
Clean apartment with three rooms, perfect for the family vocation. Very equipped with spacious kitchen. Located in a cosy Venice district, close to Biennale exhibitions.
We enjoyed staying in Claudia's apartment very much. It was perfect for us – light and airy. The apartment is very well appointed, clean, and with everything there that we needed.
There are cafes close by and a supermarket in Fondamenta S. Giorgio Schiavone. Al Canton del Vin is in Salizada San Francesco where you can buy wine by the litre in your own plastic bottle – very good value. Also there are other good local shops here.
Arriving on the Waterbus from the airport to Arsenale is a wonderful way to arrive in Venice.
The location is good, quiet and local, away from the crowds yet close for all we wanted to see with good walks around the area :–
The Architecture Biennale. The exhibitions in the Punta Della Dogana and the Palazzo Grassi. The Basilica Cattedrale Patriarcale di San Marco and many other churches.
We found very good restaurants – Trattoria Jonny in Campo delle Gatte which is close by – we ate there twice. We had a nice walk along the Fondamenta Nuova to Osteria Anice Stellato in Canneregia – a very good restaurant with an inventive menu. The Trattoria dai Tosi in Seco Marina, Castello for great pizza and close to the Biennale. The Al Storico da Crea in a boatyard on Giudecca – great food and wonderful views across the Lagoon – sit outside.
On our day of arrival we ate at Trattoria alla Nuova Speranza in Campo Ruga, Castello – sarde soar and grilled spigola a perfect start to our visit and and an interesting short walk from the apartment along the Via Garibaldi and then through a few back streets – the real Venice! Afterwards we visited San Pietro in Castello which was Venice's cathedral from 1451 to 1807 – so peaceful.
The last evening we went to a Vivaldi concert by Interpreti Veneziani in Chiesa San Vidal which was outstanding!
We had a wonderful cultural time and gastronomic delights in Venice.
Thank you for being able to rent your apartment and making our stay so relaxed.
Hopefully see you next year.

My husband and I, son and girlfriend enjoyed our stay at Claudia's apartment. Even though Claudia was away when we arrived, she had provided directions and made arrangements with a neighbor to meet us and everything went smoothly. We did not use the kitchen other than for the electric kettle for morning coffee as many restaurants were nearby. The location was very good, only a five minute walk from the Arsenale stop. The nearby bar could be heard in the bedrooms, but all was quiet late at night. We were happy to have AC as Venice was very warm the first week of August. However, the AC is located by the entry door and cool air does not reach well to the back bedroom area. All in all, it was a great stay and we recommend it to others.
Claudia's apartment was perfect for our 3 night stay in Venice. Given the heatwave, the A/C offered welcome relief. We utilized the well stocked kitchen, cooking many meals. The location was also perfect; quiet, away from the crowds but close to major sites, shopping, restaurants and transport. I will definitely be going back!
We were a family of 5 and had a very happy stay at the apartment. Claudia provided copious helpful maps to find the apartment and to find all the local facilities which was much appreciated. We found a very good local pizza take away which was a bonus.
The location was perfect, authenic as a little off the main tourist trail, but easily accessible from the Arsenale vapouretta stop.
We were able to walk everywhere and when we wanted to go further a field like Burano catch the boat. It was interesting to see the Arsenale and on the last day we left our bags in the apartment and went to the Naval museum, we then collected everything and went to the airport.
We were able to cook in the kitchen which as a family of 5 was convenient. I will certainly recommend it to my friends and family
As a family of five, finding comfortable and affordable accommodations in Europe for our recent trip was a challenge. Claudia's apartment was sufficiently spacious, clean, bright, and very reasonably priced. Located in a slightly quieter part of the island, it was still conveniently close to tourist sites, restaurants, vaporetto stops and the grocery store. Claudia was extremely pleasant to deal with and provided lots of information prior to our arrival that helped us plan a very memorable stay. The kitchen was well equipped and having air conditioning and wifi was a big plus. Molto grazie, Claudia. A la prossima volta!
Central but quiet, because in a street outside the noisy of domestic tourists, the apartment is located in one of the oldest area of Venice, where you meet venetians more than tourists. If you walk along Riva degli Schiavoni, fantastic when the lagoon is illuminated by the morning sun, and go to the Gardens of the Biennale, encounters the picturesque Via Garibaldi, very Venetian and unknown to the mass tourism, , which is typical for its restorants, its local market and the oldest fish shops. I advise you to have breakfast there in one of its many cafes. However, if you go to Piazza San Marco (you reach really in 10 minutes), you immerse yourself in the best-known Venice which needs no introduction. If you try an alternative way to visit the city, you can miss you inside the labyrinth of quiet and peaceful calli (streets) wandering aimlessly: every corner reserves a surprise. If you fear this adventurous lightness, you can follow your guide. Fortunately, no guide will protect you from the possibility of losing you, and if it happens, you should support it.
