2 bedroom 2 ensuite bathroomed town house six minutes walk to local beach.

Set in a small tranquil gated community, six minutes walk from the beach, this beautiful fully air-conditioned home offers the bespoke holiday in your corner of paradise. Each air conditioned bedroom has an en suite bathroom and french doors leading to a private balcony. There are ceiling fans in each room, fully fitted wardrobes and each bedroom has a hairdryer.

The spacious open plan living area with fully fitted kitchen leads to a large covered dining terrace, plunge pool and tropical gardens, which offers the perfect alfresco experience. Porters Gate also has a large communal pool and Tennis Court for all to use. A newly opened spa is located next to the Pool House offering beauty treatments by appointment. For your added comfort the villa has an Electric Barbecue, iPod Docking Station, Satellite TV, DVD, Wifi and free local calls.

The contemporary modern design of the villa is decorated to the highest standard, including a number of pieces by the renowned Timothy Oulton.

Our aim is to ensure that your stay at our villa is as peaceful and tranquil as the island itself. You will be met at the property, on arrival by our Property Manager, Rachel, who will make sure you are familiar with the house and all its features. We provide a weekly maid service, but should you wish for additional visits during your stay,or have any other requirements or questions Rachel or myself will be delighted to help.

Please note our checkin time is 4pm and our checkout time is midday.

All linen, towels and beach towels are provided.

For environmental reasons and to be in keeping with the island of Barbados, our guests are encouraged to use the Air conditioning wisely. Upon arrival at the property, our Manager will take a meter reading and then again upon your departure, your usage will be calculated and charged on a pay as you use basis. In our experience this is favoured by our guests as this enables the guest to be in complete control over the usage. A security deposit of £200.00 is taken at time of booking and will be refunded upon your arrival home, less any damages and electricity used.

We recommend Stoutes Car hire and can provide all contact details for you or there are taxis available at the airport arrivals area and will cost $58 Barbados Dollars which is approx £20.00.

The villa has parking to the front of the property and a private secluded garden to the rear. For your added comfort and security, all windows and doors are fitted with security bars and the property is also fitted with an alarm.

Please note that the development does not provide any form of supervision, so caution must be therefore taken at all times, especially with younger children in the pool and surrounding areas, the home owner does not accept liability

About Heather

We have owned our home for 5 years now and love it more each time we visit. We fell in love with the Caribbean after being married in Antigua, then visiting Barbados with our two baby sons, some 20 plus years ago.

As a family we absolutely love and embrace all that Barbados has to offer and decided to make it our home. We love having the opportunity to host guests in our home and to hear about the new adventures and discoveries, upon their return. To read our visitors book is the first thing we do as soon as we arrive!

Why Heather chose St. James

We are ideally located in the centre of the West Coast, just a leisurely 6 minute stroll from the beautiful beach at Heron Bay and a relaxing 15 minute stroll into Holetown, which offers some of the best restaurants, bars and shopping in Barbados. The new Limegrove Lifestyle centre is brimming with style and charm, with designer stores, restaurants, beauty salons, bars and coffee shops.

Holetown also has a large supermarket, banks and a 24 hour Medical Centre.

Our home is set amongst 28 houses, a small private secluded development which has a communal pool and tennis court. We have fully redecorated and refurnished to offer a cool stylish contemporary interior and outdoor space with a Bajan twist!

Our large covered terrace is the perfect place to relax and chill after a hard day at the beach or sightseeing. Fully air-conditioned interior and fully equipped home, 4 Porters Gate offers a 'home away from home' in Barbados

5* elegance and comfort

When booking this home for my family holiday I was nervous as hadn't visited Barbados before. Heather was incredibly helpful and did not hesitate to give lots of advice and take the time to recommend different restaurants, beaches etc.

As well as the country being a must see the property was faultless. Gorgeous anterior and a welcoming home, can only gloat about the accommodation. The layout was perfect with the added bonus to have private bathroom in each room, both very spacious. The property was clean and the choices of decor was very chic with a modern touch. I would recommend this property to anybody, the layout suits families and couples alike. The kids loved the tennis courts and was a nice touch to keep the children busy whilst I was able to cook in the kitchen, the pool is of a good reasonable size and we also took advantage of the George Foreman BBQ. Great holiday and a massive thank you to Heather for all her help.

The definition of relaxation

Three adults in our group enjoyed a marvellous 3 weeks in this excellent "home away from home". Everything about this property tells of loving attention to detail by the owners. Everyone involved in the running of the home and garden could not have been more efficient and friendly. Nothing was too much for Rachel the property manager to cope with. The owners were always easily contacted and made us feel very welcome. A place to relax immediately, somewhere for an instant connection to the sun, sea and sand relaxed mind set. We could not have been more pleased with our time and hope to return soon.

Beautiful property

This is a lovely property providing plenty of indoor and outdoor space, close to amenities and the excellent restaurants on the west coast of the island. Can't say we wanted for anything within the property over our stay, everything was catered for - very well equipped. The garden is really lovely with plenty of shade and a nice plunge pool. Property manager and all staff that visited during our stay were great. Local beach just a short walk away, and when not too hot, an easy walk into Holetown with all it has to offer. Would recommend hiring a car to make the most of the island. Would definitely recommend to all. Thanks Heather, Mark and Rachel!

Very neat and compact. Tastefully and well furnshed with very comfortable beds.

We had a wonderful holiday at this beautiful property. The villa is very clean and tidy and is well managed and maintained very well. Pretty much everything has been thought about - picnicware etc. Ideal location for local beaches. The plunge pool is very refreshing.

The owner is very cusomer focused and very pleasant and helpful. any queries prior to departure from the UK were addressed and responded to promptly.

The property listing was accurate.

We thoroughly enjoyed using the local transport, particularly the reggae buses.

Situated in the parish of St James, our villa is the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful island of Barbados and all its attractions. St James, on the Platinum Coast, is often referred to as the playground of the rich and famous, but it has so much more depth. It was here that the first British settlers landed in 1625, under the reign of King James and named in Jamestown, now latterly known as Holetown. Not only noted for its spectacular beaches, Holetown is now home to The Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, a shopping centre full of restaurants, cafes, bars and leading designer boutiques, including Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and Burberry to mention a few. Directly opposite Limegrove you will find 1st and 2nd Street, the heart of Holetowns nightlife, not to be missed.

Holetown has historical attractions including the St. James Parish Church and the Portvale Sugar Factory, one of the few operational on the island.

For those Golfers, there are numerous world famous courses in the area including Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland and the renowned Kensington Oval for cricket lovers. Barbados has a long association with Polo which takes place at Apes Hill and Holders. Holders also has a weekly Farmers Market each Sunday, offering amazing organic local produce and local Arts and Crafts. The area is renowned for its varied water sports to include snorkelling and diving on nearby reefs and at the Marine Park, sailing, water-skiing and jet skiing. Island tours are readily available to visit such attractions as Harrisons Cave and the local Rum Distillary.

There are fresh fish markets, within a short drive and a large supermarket in the centre of Holetown. Should you choose not to hire a car, there is a bus stop at the end of the road, to take you anywhere on the island.

The closest beautiful white sandy beach is a six minute walk from our home, to the north, a short drive leads you to the famous Mullins Beach and beach bar,used by the residents and guests of Royal Westmoreland and to the south, you will find the gentle undulating golden beaches of Sandy Lane and Paynes Bay, the regular haunt of the celebrities.
