Cute Cottage

  • 4 of 5

My husband, sister and brother-in-law spent three night here, and had an amazing time. The road is a little noisy but you couldn't hear the cars at night or with the door closed. The cabin was perfectly clean and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us. The kitchen worked great for cooking and the towns around the cabin have great dining options if you'd prefer to eat out. The lake across the street is perfect for swimming and the hikes near the house and on the other side of the island are incredible. Definitely would come back!

Great Acadia home base

  • 5 of 5

Other reviews are spot-on. Clean, convenient, road noise isn't much of an issue if you're out adventuring during the day. We loved staying closer to Southwest Harbor, but Bar Harbor's still accessible. Great to find such a nice place that didn't require full week commitment. Thanks Pepper!

A very well laid out rustic Maine cabin on large

  • 4 of 5

As others have commented this rustic cabin overlooks Echo Lake from across a sometimes very busy highway (Rt. 233 to Southwest Harbor). This road used to be much more rural in character but has been fairly recently upgraded to a modern wide highway with cars going quite fast (big mistake on the part of the planning board, not only for the cabin but the whole idea of the island-to slow life down) . But we stayed there the busiest week of the year so I would assume that the beginning and end of season would have less traffic.

The place has good wifi, a fantastic wood stove that heats the whole place (rooms-except bathroom-have no ceilings for dispersal of the heat generated by the stove-nice idea),

There is an excellent small "beach", canoe/kayak launch right across the road. and requisite loons. The porch with its rocker was just great, right out of a novel.

The cabin is immaculate, well provided, and as described. The quality of the cabin, view, and access, outweigh the road. Loved it!

Cozy cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was great for a family of four who just want a place to sleep and eat. We spent the days hiking and sightseeing. The beds were comfortable, the showers were warm and the kitchen is just right. The is a lot of road noise, but we also had two deer that slept next to the cabin!

This is perfect if you want to listen to the radio at night and read. Who needs a TV!

Maine in June

  • 5 of 5

Perfect little cabin for a getaway. It was nice to soak up the heat of the wood stove after a chilly, rainy day on the trail or water. A nice stack of wood is provided, the beds were comfortable, great scenery, cute kitchen with everything you might need. The wifi is great, and it's so close to town. Trails are just a few miles away, as well as a beach, if you want to avoid the Bar Harbor crowds. The dogs liked roaming the woods, and of course there's the lake view. Exactly what we were looking for. The only exception is the road is probably very loud if it's warm enough to open the windows, which it was not. A perfecxt stay.

Quaint, cozy cabin across the street from Echo Lake.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed being a little removed from the crowded tourist area, yet a short drive to everything. Being across from beautiful Echo Lake was great. As some reviewers noted, there is some noise from the road below the cabin, but we got used to it after a while. Our host was informative and helpful, and left us plenty of wood for the wood burning stove. We got to see some deer pass by the kitchen window one morning. We would stay here again.
