Great Location

  • 4 of 5

The location is right in the middle of the island, which is great for begining each day of exploring. It is minutes from many of Acadia's best hikes, a grocery store, and Southwest Harbor. If you are an early riser, you can have the trails to yourself.

There is a fairly good-sized porch and side yard, with a hammock. Both are perfect for enjoying the nice weather. You may even see a deer or two.

The road noise and constant comings and goings of the swimmers across the street proved too much for our grouchy old dog. I would, however, highly reccomend this cabin for those who love to swim and/or have a dog who also loves to swim. Echo lake is one of the best places to swim on the island. You can also launch kayaks, canoes, and SUPs.

Cute Little Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was clean, with plenty of towels, linens and blankets! Beds were very comfortable and we slept with the windows open for cool night breeze! Although during the day you can here traffic from the road, it is not loud or annoying, and it does quiet down in the evening. I would definitely suggest bringing a chair or blanket to sit down by the water, very peaceful and gorgeous view of the lake! Bathroom/shower is small, but very clean!

Thank you to our hostess! When back in the area, would stay again!

Charming little cabin just steps away from Echo Lake

  • 5 of 5

This small, simple cabin opens up to high rafters, and is centered around a beautifully warm wood-burning stove. Beds were comfy, kitchen well-appointed, plenty of warm water for showers. We had a fire the first night, but the weather warmed up enough the next two days to jump in the clear cool waters of Echo Lake. We stayed for three nights in July, a busy season, and as others have mentioned, there was some traffic noise, but not enough to fuss us. We went into Southwest Harbor to buy fresh lobsters, and used the kitchen's lobster pot to boil them for a real Maine experience. (We also bought a wonderful berry pie at Island Bound Treats.) We would definitely return to this cottage.

Rustic retreat that is very clean and has all you need.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here with our dogs and 3 month old daughter and had a lovely time. My Desert got as hot as 89 degrees while we were here making the cabin a bit warm during the day but very comfortable/ cool in the morning and night with the windows open. The owners provide two box fans and we just planned to be out exploring Mt Desert during the warmest part of the day. Everything in the cabin was tidy and very clean and we were conveniently located 5 min from southwest harbor and 15 min from Bar Harbor. We had a great time the only complaint is that the cabin was situated near a busy road and we could hear the traffic with the windows open at night. Altogether we had a great time!

Sweet little Maine cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here in the cabin! The location was so fun across from Echo lake and a short drive to the lighthouse. Also not too far from Bar Harbor and the main Acadia National Park!!

This cabin was a great value and had all we needed to make great memories together with our children!! It was fun to unplug for a while :).

Comfortable and quaint

  • 4 of 5

Overall great stay. Cabin was perfectly stocked with everything needed and nothing that wasn't. The sheets and towels were not only a nice addition that most don't offer, also clean and super comfortable. Beds were nice as well. The noise of traffic was a turnoff, but we spent most of our days out and the evenings were not so bad. The view by the water at night is amazing, and great spot for kids to swim. Glad we tried it out!
