Best Location in Newport Beach
We had a truly memorable time on the sand in Newport Beach. The house is lovely, particularly the master bedroom and bath on the second level. The townhouse sits right on the sand, so it is just steps to the water. There is a great deal of surfing and boarding directly out from the house; it was great fun to watch the surf enthusiasts. A number of fine (if not !wow!) restaurants are within walking distance, as is the Balboa Pier with a vibrant commercial / restaurant scene. When we return, we will hope that Pat's house is available.

Highly recommend this property for families. Great breach access lots of sand for volleyball no sidewalks in front of the property so very safe for small children to be in sand in front of home. Loved that the kitchen was fully stocked, with all utensils for cooking, spices and cleaning supplies. Loved it had a washer and dryer to wash our towels when needed. TV's in every room and plenty of bathrooms. Would rent again. The Owner Pat was available when we called to answer our questions.
great ocean front place
We rented this house for a month. The house was just as advertised. We opened our sliding glass door to the master bedroom every night to hear the ocean. Its a nice walk into town. The water is not too far away, we noticed it was quite a distance away closer to the Balboa Pier. The rooms and bathrooms are set up nicely to handle couples or kids. We are from Vancouver, B.C. so we bought used bikes from the rental shop and they bought them back at the end of the trip! (way cheaper than renting if you are there for awhile) Also we needed a playpen because its too expensive to come as luggage, so we bought a used one at "Lil Posh" and they bought it back for 50% when we were done!! All good. I would agree with the other comments a gas grill (even a little one) would be great vs the charcoal. It was just too hard to light etc. There is now a Bic lighter in the kitchen drawer, the matches just didn't work. Also bring a hair dryer, there is none in the house. Everything else was there. If we were to come to Newport again we would not look for another place, comfy beds and great location!!
Fantastic House Fantastic Location
We rented this house for a week and wished we could have just moved in! You cannot beat the location, it is magnificent. We really enjoyed being able to sit out on the patio without the traffic of the boardwalk. The only downside, was the grill. For such a wonderful vacation rental you would think a gas BBQ would be provided. Instead it is a very worn out charcoal grill. Hope the owners will consider upgrading the grill. If you need a relaxing vacation, don't hesitate to rent this place. The kitchen is well appointed, and your linen is included so just bring your food and drink and stay put! Oh beware, driving into the garage can be tricky if your car sits low to the ground, go in at an angle or risk scraping the bottom of your vehicle on your way in! Enjoy!
Family Vacation/50th Bday Celebration
This house is awesome! Plenty of room for everyone, no traffic from the boardwalk, step out to sand, surf and sun! We clebrated 3 generations of bdays that week and Disneyland has a partner in "the happiest place on earth". Weather that week was exceptionally cooperative, with cloudy days for D-land and Knott's and sunny days for the beach. Sunsets/sunrises were spectacular. Pat was very attentive to our needs and everything handled prior to arrival. Most definately will return next year. Only bad thing: time went too fast!!
Weekend by the Sea
This place was heaven for eleven woman, who spent a much needed weekend away in the middle of March. There is no bad time to be at the beach
The set up of the house is great. It comfortably held all of our stuff, and some did not pack lightly. The kitchen is fully supplied. The two coffee pots were much appreciated in the morning, and the blender came in handy for those beachy cocktails in the afternoon. There is plenty of pantry space for your food supplies as well. Kitchen is nicely organized for multiple cooks.
We loved the layout. Most of the first floor is open. Dining and common room are set up nicely for visiting and enjoying the beautiful view. A lot of time was spent on the patio area. Lots of extra chairs to accommodate all of us, as well as beach chairs to take down to the water.
The house is located within walking or biking distance from the pier, where you will find the most charming bartender at one of the local watering holes.
We are looking forward to another visit next year.
