Casa Rural El Médico is located in the urban center of Obejo, a village located in the Sierra Morena, about 50 kilometers from Córdoba. The origin of the town goes back at least to the Caliphate period, in what was known as Ubal, which with the passage of time would lead to the current name of Obejo. As a testimony of its origin, aside from the archaeological remains, we have the name of the street where the house is located: Almocara (Arabic term that comes to mean "cave road")
In the house they lived for about 30 years (from the 40s to the 70s) our grandparents, parents or in-laws, depending on how you look at them. He was a vocational doctor, one of those who used to be able to attend from birth to a snake bite, toothache or bone trauma. Hence the name of the house, a small tribute to his memory.
It is an old house rehabilitated, built on three levels, to be, as all the people, on top of a hill. It presents the most common typology of Andalusian villages, adapting to the relief on which it sits, and white facades with details in red almagra. As an old house, it has 2 patios and well, elements that served for self-supply and for the lighting and thermal regulation of the house. The latter is still true, adding new leisure possibilities to the presence of barbecue and garden furniture.
Its strategic location gives wonderful views to the entire fertile valley of the Obejo stream, which rises to the foothills of the town, and the Sierra de la Canaleja.
