About The Owner

I am a stay at home grandmother who loves to shop and decorate. Mike is a retired technician at Verizon telephone in Geneva. We love to spend time with family on the lake or go for a ride on our motorcycle through the country side. We were both raised in this area and could not think of a better place to live and raise our two girls.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Seneca Lake

We have lived on the lake for twenty nine years. When this home, five houses from ours went up for sale, we decided to buy it to rent out as a vacation home. We wanted to allow others to enjoy the lake as we have for a reasonable price. We have truly enjoyed meeting some wonderful new friends who are now regulars. Our goal is for you to have a great vacation and enjoy Seneca Lake. Our feed back from the last nine years has been all positive as you can see from our reviews from past renters. Come enjoy a Taste Of Serenity on Seneca Lake

What makes this house unique

Taste of Serenity is a great peaceful place in a older residential neighborhood. Located one mile off the main road means no traffic noise. The east side of the lake is the perfect side as the sun rises in the back yard and sets over the lake. The west wind over the lake most often provides a cooling breeze on those so hot summer days.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We really enjoyed our stay here whilst visiting family in Geneva. However, we didn't get to use the cottage too much as we had the birth of our grandaughter Lena on the 12th October, which has kept us very busy! The soccer season takes up our time too !

It was lovely to be near family and friends, but have our own space in your home-from-home cottage.

Thank you for everything,

Barbara & Nik

So Relaxing!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a fantastic week at Taste of Serenity the week of Labor Day this year. It was just what the doctor ordered - so relaxing and peaceful to watch a beautiful lake sunset in Adirondack chairs. The few nights that we went out during the sunset, we commented on how we weren't gong to get to see it that evening. Absolutely stunning. The cottage is impeccably maintained and had everything we needed. The proximity to the wineries and to downtown Geneva is great. Kathy and Mike were so generous with a bottle of wine to greet us and beautiful fresh cut flowers throughout the house. This was our first visit, but I don't think it will be our last!

Another wonderful stay....

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth year at Taste of Serenity...and it didn't disappoint! Always clean and neat upon our coming home! The hot summer days passed all too quickly as we enjoyed our two weeks on Seneca Lake. Kids and Grands visited and enjoyed all of the water crafts at different times. Visits to the nearby brewery and wineries some days, outlets on the one rainy day, or reading books in those Adirondack chair over looking the lake......we enjoyed every minute. See you next year Kathy and Mike!

Perfect Trip!

  • 5 of 5

My son and I had a wonderful stay at 'A Taste of Serenity' the week of June 20th-27th. The house was cozy and we instantly felt at home. We felt very close to town and the home was easy to get to, even tucked away on a bumpy farm road! Some days we laid around the house enjoying the view and reading, others we spent most of our time outside floating in tubes in the lake! The home had all the accommodations necessary to cook meals, which we did most days for breakfast and lunch. We usually chose to eat out for early dinners so we could get back to enjoying the comfortable home and view. We definitely plan a return trip and I have recommended the home to others! Thanks again!

Total Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

My brother , my best friend and myself spent the most relaxing week at "Taste of Serenity" cottage. We found it perfectly equipped and cozy . We made use of the several kayaks , canoe and rowboat . Mike and Kathy are such accommodating hosts . They were a plethora of knowledge about the local area from the wineries to local night life to scenic destinations. I will be definitely returning with my wife for another "getaway"! I highly recommend this destination as the stress level is absolute zero!

Just what we wanted for a great vacation.

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I enjoyed every minute of our stay at Taste of Serenity. The location overlooking the lake was a pleasure for the eyes. Someone on the west side of the lake was even kind enough to give us a fireworks display one evening (although that probably was not part of the package.) We spent most of our "at home" time in the sun room enjoying the view while taking our meals, playing games, and reading. Even the train of thunderstorms that Ma Nature sent our way couldn't dampen our spirits, it was so majestic watching the light display as each storm blew in.

Rain or shine, there was plenty to do in the area, and the house was well equipped with brochures filled with suggestions. Waterfalls, lighthouses, museums, shopping; as much or as little outdoor activity as one could want.

However we spent our days, we always knew we had a very comfortable home to return to. We lacked for nothing at Taste of Serenity, and the owners did much to make our stay special with personal touches and ready information on the area. The next vacation to the Finger Lakes, we will definitely look to stay here again. Thanks, Michael and Kathy!
