THE BEST LOCATION NEAR TO EVERYTHING

  • 5 of 5

What can I say? we had an excellent time there. The apartment was as it is listing, accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, space, security. The property was clean and very well maintained and the apartment is near of everything. You are located in the heart of Paris, two blocks from Notre Dame. The people of ALPARAMIS was excellent from the begining. It was our first trip to Paris and we were like home. We were there per one month. About the amenities: you will have what you need and more in the kitchen, you will count with a washer and dryer machine if you want to use it, good air condition and heaters, nothing of noice from the street. There is a lot of information in the appartment to visit other places, where you can find a supermarket o points of interest.

During our vacations, we traveled much outside of the city of Paris and never had problems with our belongings we had left in the apartment.

We want to thank you to Paul and the people at Alparamis because was so easy to work with them. EXCELLENT service. They were so kind with us, Including they printed our flight tickets, and arrange for a taxi to reach the airport the last day when we travel back to our country. THANK YOU and we will contact you again because your company is (again) EXCELLENT

Wonderful Apartment

  • 5 of 5

This was just our second time staying at an apartment rental, and I was a little worried if everything would work out. Glamaparis (which runs the place) was absolutely terrific and the apartment lived up to the pictures. (Whew!)

We had three teens with us and each had plenty of space on bed and a surprisingly comfortable pull out couch. The apartment's location could not be better -- just 2 minutes from Metro and RER (from airport!) -- and just 5 minutes from Saint Chapelle and Notre Dame itself. Lots of quick places to eat, small patisseries for the morning, and a big Monoprix supermarket 1 1/2 blocks away. \

The apartment is exactly as advertised. Big, roomy and in working order. The street outside can get a little busy on weekend evenings, but the apartment is very quiet with strong windows. The heat was great but they had fans too so we could even keep the windows open too. The courtyard was being worked on as they are finishing some painting but it didn't interfere with our stay at all. It should be finished shortly.

The kitchen was well provisioned so we could have breakfast each day and a new refrigerator and freezer were great. The washer/dryer was definitely needed for our family too. Glamaparis had a few detergent pacs etc so it made the stay easy. We replenished what we used too.

The third floor (European second) was easy to get in and out of though the last few stairs are tighter when you are bringing luggage up. But really no big deal at all.

Glamaparis met us at the apartment (even when our flight was delayed) and came over to make a small adjustment when requested. They were very responsive and professional.

One last tip: You may want to use a service like Eelway to store your bags if you need to leave apartment before flight. Great service. But Glamaparis let us do a later checkout since the apartment wasn't booked for that night.

A few of the places outside are a little touristy but trying Mich' Sandwich at the corner for good crepes and sandwiches.

Overall, LOVED this apartment and would highly recommend it for its location, and the apartment itself. A great find.

Great family apartment

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very spacious and very clean. The location could not have been better, close to metro station and bus stops, and within walking distance to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Notre Dame, and the Conciergerie. Many restaurants and grocery store within walking distance. This was a great place for a family to stay during a week long trip to Paris

Lovely Apartment Except for Construction Noise

  • 4 of 5

We were greeted at this lovely, spacious apartment, by Paul, who was professional and thorough with orientating us and making sure we felt at home. We were greeted the next morning (and all other weekdays) at 8am by very loud construction going on in the interior courtyard. It sounded like people were hammering and yelling right in the upper bedroom! Luckily, we were quick to get out each day for sight seeing since the noise was unbearable. This was a large scale project with scaffolding and such. I think the host should have advised us of this or offered a reduced rate. When we brought up this issue, we were told that "well, the other tenants never complained". That kind of misses the point. When travelers are spending a large amount of money to vacation in an apartment that is advertised as quiet, we expect the courtesy of being informed of ongoing construction on the building. It's just common courtesy.

In the heart of Saint Germain !

  • 4 of 5

We moved to this apartment from another to accommodate the arrival of our son and his family, and it was a perfect solution to our needs. By Parisian standards, or almost any other large city in Europe, this apartment is HUGE ! There were two bedrooms, one very large with a full bath facility, and separated from the rest of the apartment by the kitchen and this made an ideal place for my son, his wife and our two small granddaughters. It was quiet and dark and faced an interior "courtyard". Our bedroom was on the front and overlooked the narrow and extremely busy rue Saint-André des Arts, a hub of activity from about noon each day until sometimes close to 4AM ! Superb windows shut out almost 100% of the noise from the street but when it's hot outside, as it was, this isn't a luxury you can afford despite some very good fans in each living area.

But as for the spaciousness and location of the apartment, both are nonpareil. Less than a long block from the Seine, two blocks to Notre Dame, 10 minutes to the Louvre, 4 minutes to a great Metroprix, and less than 100 feet to a Metro and a bakery right underneath you - how do you improve upon this ? Even the 38 steep, winding steps up to the apartment proved to be no problem and we often went up and down 3 or more times daily, and we're in our 70's. We had no major issues during our almost 3 week stay and the staff of Glamaparis was very responsive on the few times we had a question and were also quite helpful getting us situated into the unit. Due to the steep steps, this probably is not the best place for someone with any ambulatory issues, and might be best suited to younger groups, but we loved it and got to know some of the local food vendors and restaurant and shop owners. And there was lots to do with our 2 and 5 year old granddaughters in close proximity to the unit(Luxembourg Gardens, a child's paradise, is about a 10 minute walk) and, unlike us, they loved the stairs !!!

One of the two sofas in the living area easily pulled out into a large and very comfortable bed that the kids or I used on a couple of occasions.

If space and location and fun and activity are at the top of your priority list and street noise and steep steps are not an issue, this unit deserves your consideration ! My rating would be five stars but for the street noise(remember my age !) and having to keep the windows open because of the summer heat and humidity.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this really good feedback. You have very well summarized the location and specificities of this apartment. Being in a very dynamic neighbourhood as Saint-Germain/Saint-Michel prepares you to face the Paris day & night ambiance. However and since the owner is very allergic to the noise, he has installed triple glazed windows to ensure you calm and peaceful nights. Fans are provided for each room during the summer days and can easily replace the night breeze you can get with the windows open. We would be glad to have you stay with us again in the future. Best Wishes, Samia and the GLAMAPARIS team.
