This charming home was perfect for my family of five. We especially enjoyed spending summer days and evenings in the screened in porch that looks out over a lovely landscaped private yard.
Thank you so much. The screened porch is my favorite “room” in the spring and Summer. Having dinner there - no bugs. And especially when the hydrangeas are in bloom.
This home is full of old world charm! My family had the pleasure of spending many winters there, especially after Superstorm Sandy.... The date above the Reveiw is inaccurate. We stayed in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
My family of 4 could not have been happier. Barbara could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The home is perched on top of a hill with a dead end road so no traffic, yet sits just off s main road for easy access. A 10 minute drive gets you to Jiminy. 15 minutes gets you into Pittsfield for shopping and museums. The house is 1/2 from everything's imaginable in the Berkshires from museums in North Adams to Theatre everywhere else. The home is old but so comfy and full of charm. Sunrise in the kitchen and sunset in the living room. Two large fireplaces and large property to play on. Neighbors are delightful and very knowledgeable about EVERYTHING Berkshire. We stayed for an entire winter one year and half a winter in another but we will be definitely staying again soon. Trails, woods, wildlife, a state park trail is less than a 5 minute walk from the front door and the porch swing is a dream come true. I
We love the home so much we told Barbara we want the ability to give the first offer if and when the home goes up for sale. We cat say enough to wonderful things about the home or the hosts. We consider the owners and the neighbors like family! We will be back and it's worth every single penny!!!!! Centrally located, asthetically beautiful, super comfy, warm on cold nights, big beautiful trees surround property, a quest road with a stream across the street. It's sheer Berkshire perfection. Can't wait for our next winter at Barbara's home!!
The beauty and sense of enchantment of the property can really not be captured by pictures or description. Ypu have to BE there to experience it!
It was an excellent eight day stay....always the question whether to go out and enjoy the many attractions in the area, or stay at the house, and enjoy its many, many wonderful spaces!!!
Bucolic Setting and Charming Home
We had a very good time staying at Barbara's house with its charm of yesteryear and its bucolic setting. The back yard is particularly peaceful which can be enjoyed from the screened porch or from an open deck. We had the hummingbirds there quite a lot at the red impatiens on the front porch and at the lantana by the screened porch. Both the screened porch and front porch, depending on the sun, were great to relax/read in. We also saw an owl in the tree at the edge of the property. We got over to Queechy Lake to swim , saw the 3 Tanglewood concerts (Fri, Sat and Sun), hiked at Beebe State forest and ate at Marios (very close to the house and recommended by Barbara.) The house was very comfortable, well-decorated and quaint with all the nooks and crannies, idiosyncrasies, and charm of an older/antique home.
A cozy beautiful house
My family spent a few days here. It's a beautiful house with all the traditional decor. I liked to have breakfast in the kitchen's breakfast area. We enjoyed our stay.
The home is very charming, and the area is so peaceful. I highly recommend staying here!
