Everything You Need and More for the Perfect Maine Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a weeklong stay at the "All Aboard" cottage, and we had the best time! My husband, me, & our 3 daughters ages 16, 12 and 11 have visited the Boothbay region every summer for the past 9 years. We usually stay at an all-inclusive sailing camp but this year we decided to try being in our own cottage. It was a perfect stay. The cottage is adorable, with a comfy sofa and club chairs, a game table, eat-in kitchen and plenty of space for our family. My husband and I shared one of the two downstairs bedrooms and used the other bedroom as our "closet," storing suitcases, clothes, etc. there. The upstairs is basically an attic, classic Maine cottage-y, with two bedrooms, each holding two twin beds, and a second bathroom. Our girls had that area to themselves. We made many meals in the kitchen and I especially liked the oven, it works well. There is a toaster, blender, lobster pot, four-burner stove, plenty of cookware and dishware, and a dishwasher. The back deck wraps around the cottage and has a sweet view of the cove, along with a charcoal grill & a propane grill, which we never ended up using. We stored our bicycles under the deck to keep them out of the elements. There is no air conditioning but it is unnecessary in this location. The windows are new and in good condition, and a fresh, salty breeze keeps the house comfortable. From this home you can walk one block to a small beach and access the Ocean Point Beach Walk along the rocks, with a great view of Ram Island Lighthouse. In the evenings, it's a pleasant stroll around the corner to a popular sunset-viewing spot. We also rode bikes to the nearby "casino" tennis courts. Linekin Preserve, just up the road (biking or driving distance) has picturesque hiking trails along the Damariscotta River, and further up the road is the East Boothbay General Store, offering great sandwiches (including lobster rolls), artwork, wines, coffee, classy souvenirs, and appetizers (I love their whitefish dip). There is also a seafood restaurant in the village serving quintessential Maine fare on the waterfront. Hannaford's and Boothbay Harbor are about a ten-minute drive. I have no complaints about the cottage and it was nicer than we expected. The Wi-Fi is strong, hot water for showers is plentiful, the washer & dryer were invaluable for our towels and sailing/paddling clothes. It's a peaceful community with lovely gardens and nice people. Thank you Janet & Steve for sharing your wonderful home!

Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This is such a great cozy, homey and relaxing house. It was perfect for our family of 5! Very clean and very well cared for. We appreciated all the thoughtfulness put into making the house feel like home. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and we had so much fun with the checkers table. The house is right around the corner from the water! A nice easy walk to the Cove or a great walk around Ocean Point. Great spot for families. We are looking forward to returning in the years to come! Thank you for a great stay.

A Summer Paradise for My Family!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have been coming to this cottage for 16 years. This is the first year that we do not have it in our schedule, and it really does feel like something is missing. This cottage is perfect; our home away from home. It is spacious enough to house my family of 5 comfortably, and yet cozy enough to truly have the cottage experience. What’s unique about my time there is that this cottage watched my children grow up. It gave us everything we needed for my children at 5 years old – all the way up to them bringing their boyfriends ( now Fiance's ) at 25 years! The location is perfect, the views are fantastic, and there is nothing like sitting on the deck in the sun, watching the sailboats go by and smelling the ocean air. It is a quick walk to the Ocean Point Casino where there is a full playground for Adults and Kids. Tennis, Ping Pong and a nice play set. The walk to the Ocean Point Inn is breathtaking and the little church is perfect for dipping out of the sun and taking a peek into the past. I cannot say enough about this place, close to Boothbay Harbour yet far enough away from the lights to enjoy the moon and stars out on the rocks

Cozy Maine Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have been renting "All Aboard" for many years. It is clean, well-equipped, light and airy. The kitchen is roomy and very functional and the family room is spacious and inviting. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. If you have never been to Ocean Point, be prepared to fall in love. "All Aboard" on Ocean Point offers you a quintessential coastal Maine vacation.

Really has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths

  • 4 of 5

I was only at the cottage for 5 days, but enjoyed the kitchen, well equipped, one burner on the stove didn't work but the owner was aware of that. Nice views from the dinning room, living room and deck. My only real complaint was no firewood, well three very wet pieces of firewood, I bought firewood and should not have had to do that. Be aware that the bathrooms are very small and there is no where to put anything. The Wi-Fi works very well and the property is well maintained, leaves had not started turning until I was leaving. Ocean Point is really close to everything, stores, post office, and in town restaurants. I was sorry to have to leave early.
