Six bedrooms, four bathrooms (three with shower), sleeps 9.
Villa Madonnina is a large sunny south facing villa, part of a farm hamlet of three buildings which includes a little church (hence the name Madonnina) dating from the 17th century but recently restored with breathtaking views of the Piedmont hills and the Alps, lying just 12 km from the centre of beautiful Turin. It is an ideal family base for one or two families to relax in with six bedrooms, kitchen, four wcs (two with shower, one with bath), living room and games room and great facilities for the kids including its own football pitch in the woods, trampoline, tree house, ping pong, courtyard suitable for roller skating or kids bikes and a small refreshing kid safe swimming pool set in three acres of land. Accommodation is simple but comfortable and there is a barbeque for the guests and a choice of terraces to eat out on.
The house forms part of an old farm complex complete with church and outbuildings and is surrounded by fruit trees, vineyards and woodland in a veritable garden of Eden! Although Villa Madonnina is one of three buildings that make up this little hamlet on top of the hill there is total privacy and seclusion and the possibility to make as much noise and have as much fun as you wish.

About Rupert Raison
I am an Englishman resident in Italy since 1984 married to an Italian woman. I fell in love with Villa Madonnina at first sight but now live in Turin for work reasons although I still spend as much time at the villa as I can. I write for Children's Televison and Theatre. I have two older kids finishing education now from a previous marriage and I have started anew with a child born in 2011! As a result the house is very family friendly.
Rupert Raison purchased this Villa in 1996
Why Rupert Raison chose Castiglione Torinese
It is in the most stunning countryside and it is the perfect place to relax after the hustle and bustle of the city. It is also very spacious and ideal for parties and kids. Guests are most impressed when they see the master bedroom!
What makes this Villa unique
Close to the city but immersed in beautiful countryside. You can see wonderful sunrises and sunsets from the house as it is South facing on the top of a hill.

Perfect base for exploring the region
What a wonderful location and villa! The host was welcoming and had even made us lunch knowing we’d had a long journey, and provided guidance and ideas to get the most from our holiday. The house is well equipped and was a family home, so feels homely and comfortable. Everything in the house worked properly. The whole property is very large and roomy, with several spaces inside and outside to relax or undertake activities.
The garden was wonderful, and great for adults and children alike, and members of our group dispersed into different corners or the terrace when they wanted time to themselves. We didn’t want for anything during our stay, and could just relax and enjoy our holiday.
The location is excellent, with the local village / town having very good restaurants (the local pizza take out where you can eat in was also good – ignore trip advisor), great shops (find the shop that fills empty bottles with wine – a bargain!) and good supermarkets (bordello is exceptionally good with meat, bread, cheese & fish counters with superb local produce).
I love northern Italy and this region, and the property is perfectly position for Turin, Asti, Alba, and the surrounding regions.
Very nice enjoyable place, great location, fantastic host!
We spent two wonderful weeks at this spacious, quiet and absolutely family friendly place! Even with 9 people (6 adults and 3 children) there was plenty of room for everybody! The kids enjoyed playing ping pong, basketball and, of course, the nice big pool. The mornings and evenings we spent on the patio, either the one on the east side of the one on the west side. The kitchen was fully equipped so we could cook nice Italian meals. Also for barbequeing everything was set. The fact that there is wifi and a tv/dvd player available was convenient as well. The surrounding area is also very nice and is very interesting to explore. "Unfortunately", it was so hot that taking walks was only an option in the morning. Besides that, one also gets eaten up by the mosquitos like everywhere else in the Piemonte area. Last but not least: we had the best "host" one could imagine! Rupert, thank you so much for giving as such a nice place and taking such good care of us! We will gladly recommend your place and are looking forward to come back!
Thank you very much for your kind review. Rupert

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Italians eat out in the evenings with citronella candles. It is a hot climate!
Vidunderlig ferie i et fantastisk skønt og rummeligt hus. Helt perfekt til tre generationer! Love it
TW, Schweiz
Thank you for the kind review and I look forward to welcoming you and your family back for your second visit this Easter!
Villa Madonnina is ideally situated between Turin (just 30 minutes away). Villa Madonnina offers an ideal base for families or groups who want good value for money in a beautiful setting with excellent leisure facilities including table tennis, table football, trampoline, a tree house, football pitch, small swimming pool and equipment for small children. The house is in the Turin hills surrounded by beautiful countryside just 12km from the centre of Turin. In the last few years the area of Turin has become one of Italy’s top tourist destinations, encompassing a Royal city with a stunning city centre and top class museums, restaurants and shopping without the crowds of Florence or Venice. The area literally offers something for everyone and for those who like their food it is the home of Slow Food and superb restaurants for all budgets and most sports and leisure faciities are within easy reach, including a pony club at the bottom of the valley. Nearby the Savoy castles, some of Italy’s top vineyards around Alba and the mountains are all within an hour’s drive or less. Villa Madonnina is the ideal place to enjoy this still relatively undiscovered part of Italy. It is also superb cycling country for enthusiasts who can use the house as an ideal base for longer excursions in the hilly countryside and of course the walking nearby is superb right from the doorstep of the villa and there are some wonderful paths in the Turin woods passing by majestic monasteries and churches (including The Basilica di Superga and the Vezzolano Abbey) and there are great mountain walks nearby. The Sagra di San Michele the location for Umberto Eco's Name of the Rose is also only 45 minutes away. It is an exciting place to holiday where kids can let off steam and the adults can relax and enjoy the fabulous views whilst drinking fine wine on the terrace,
