                                        Beautiful!

                                        4 of 5
The setting was extremely beautiful with a private pool, pelicans flying overhead, and the beach in our backyard. We spent a lot of time at the pool and in the Gulf of Mexico. While more rustic and remote than a stay in Cancun, it was perfect for us! We enjoyed the privacy, relaxation, and easy access to all the Yucatan has to offer. Perfect for a large group, extended family or blended family. Lots of separate space as well as communal space. The communal space isn't air conditioned, but all areas have overhead fans. The property was clean and early each morning the pool was maintained. We had a couple of simple issues and questions that were answered right away. Manuel and Gabriela are on-site to help and Jean Pierre is only a call away to assist with any questions or issues that arise. Jean Pierre also visited in person when we arrived and before we departed. When we could bring ourselves to leave the beautiful setting, we loved visiting the market at Merida, the ruins at Dzibilchaltun, seeing flamingos in the water along the road to Progresso, and eating fresh seafood at one of the many restaurants in Progresso. We enjoyed spending time in the small village of Telchac Puerto. We walked down the beach to Telchac Puerto to see the murals, watch the fishermen on the pier, visit a small grocery store, and eat at Los Tiburones across from the lighthouse. Thanks Jean Pierre, Manuel, and Gabriela!

Great location, quiet secure. Great home!

First Aida is a great host. She is attentive to any request or problem. Problem raised, problem solved. After a storm, she took the time to check with us is all as well. The property is well maintained and comfortable. The care-taker Marcos and wife Daisy are gems. The location on the beach made roaming and swimming a pleasure. Many attractions are within an hour’s drive. Restaurants are abundant and the food fabulous.

Everything we had hoped for and then some

Some might find Villa Zazil too quiet, for us was a perfect location. Within an our of a city with everything you need, yet far enough that you are isolated. Incredible beaches that you can quite literally see for miles and at the same time not see another sole. The solitude and tranquility for us was exactly what we sought, and were richly rewarded. Everything save a couple of small appliances (a toaster and coffee maker) is exactly what is represented on the property description, and I must say that these were delivered within hours of our requesting them which lead me to believe they were w simple oversight. Xama Junior, Xama Senior, Bullie, Cecil, and of course Saul were the most accommodation and friendly hosts we have ever had the good fortune of renting from. On a minute's notice someone was there to deal with any issue we had, and truthfully what we encountered as issues were few and minor, and as I said rectified immediately. Two doors down directly on the beach is the Bella Mar restaurant, owned and operated by a wonderful couple, the food was outstanding, the service was as though you were in a friend's home. There are ruins within 1/2 hour's drive, definitely worth taking in. We went in the middle of the day and for three hours we had the entire site to ourselves. Overall I would have to say that this area as a whole is the most well kept secret in Mexico, and fear that if it receives too many reviews like this we will find ourselves in another Tulum, once a quiet romantic place to go and now the streets are now so packed it is difficult to walk them. I hope Telchac remains the way it is for years to come, a sleepy village! We enjoyed the property so much in fact we are already planning to return next year, so that if that isn't the best recommendation I can give I don't know what is. Xama, thank you for sharing your home with us, we look forward to seeing you and your family again next year. Pat and Nat Mulrooney Perth, ON, CAN
