        Harpers Ferry: Cabin Rentals (3)

Gorgeous cabin, perfect location for hikers!

The cabin is beautifully appointed and light-filled - it's not a large space, but the owners have made it feel that way through clever design touches. I and my dog stayed in March on a chilly weekend but were quite cozy thanks to use of the woodstove. The full kitchen came in handy and is well supplied with cookware. The cabin is alongside a country road and you do hear traffic; also, it's on a blind driveway so I had to take especial care leaving for the parks each morning. Catoctin Mountain Park, Cunningham Falls, Gambrill State Park and others are within 15 minutes to an hour away - this is an ideal location for hikers, and yet you're only about an hour from DC. There are also several vineyards and small towns nearby. I recommend it and hope to stay here again on another getaway from the city.

My father and I stayed here for 2 nights in mid-October for a fishing trip on the Shenandoah River. The cabin was fantastic. We sat on the huge porch in the evening and also enjoyed the wood stove. The river was only a couple miles away which was perfect. The owner was VERY accommodating and helpful. She was very responsive by email while we were planning the trip. She left us a 6-pack of great beer and glassware to take home with their house name on them...and snacks. Also, we left some clothes in the cabin and didn't know it until the cleaners found them the next day. The owner contacted us and immediately shipped them (free) and even packaged them so nicely that I thought they came from a store! I would highly recommend this cabin.
