A great little Georgetown property that was clean and ready when we arrived. Worked very well for 3 people (with a full kitchen which we used!).
Simple furnishings and thoughtful design gave this apartment a comfortable feel and made it seem bigger than the actual dimensions . Comfortable beds, good WiFi, cable (no need to watch TV if you are here to see the sights!) and climate control made relaxing at the end of the day very nice.
You can reach downtown DC in about 10 minutes via the bus (very clean, was never crowded) that stops about twice an hour, every hour until well past midnight and is very close by. Georgetown is an interesting neighborhood, it has a real old world sort of charm with cobblestone streets and close-in houses yet you need only venture mere minutes due-East and you are in the heart of DC. You are pretty much shielded from the noise and traffic in this part of Georgetown however.
We day-tripped each day we and relaxed on the patio each night. We ate at a nice French restaurant one night, had Sushi another night, and then had delicious sandwiches on M Street and watched soccer with a bunch of Portuguese and Spanish embassy staff (they handed out rounds of ice cold Sagress beer every time their team scored...still not sure who was playing!)
I just cannot imagine a better spot for a 7 day trip to DC. We absolutely loved the fact that we had a washer dryer. This made a huge difference (not sure if it would, but it really did. We packed in anticipation of this, so we packed rather light).
Apartment was good value
This is about as "Georgetown" as it gets
Public transportation was easy
Just cannot imagine we would have had this kind of stay/experience in a hotel.
LUXbnb provided us with instructions regarding how to get into the property, etc. and also provided a rather well thought out guide that helped us pick some nice places to eat and get coffee that we would have missed if we relied on our tourist guide book.
We have stayed in other rental apartments in Anaheim and Montreal but this was hands-down the best experience, both in terms of the quality of the property, the location of the property, and the professionalism with which the reservation process was handled.
