              Excellent stay!

We really enjoyed our week long stay at the Slate Hill Schoolhouse. It's in a beautiful location with a great view. The house is clean, comfortable and decorated nicely. No TV was a good thing for us - Wifi helped us to keep in touch when we needed to. The owners were responsive and helpful before and during our stay. Our children enjoyed the walks to see the farm animals and all the local wildlife we would see each day as we ventured out. Skyline drive is fairly close and we spent several days hiking trails there. I would definitely recommend the Schoolhouse! We are hoping we'll make it back there next year with our extended family.

              Great get away!

This log cabin home was the perfect fit for our family of 5. We divided our stay between nature (Shenandoah) and city life (DC). It was the perfect balance to a family vacation. The cabin was in a remote, peaceful place with easy access to Shenandoah National Park. My teen boys really enjoyed kayaking, sitting around the campfire and roasting marshmallows. The cabin was well stocked with all the essentials for cooking simple meals. We would definitely recommend this cabin to family and friends.
