My wife and I wanted a weekend away from everything and this was the place! No TV is a blessing for someone connected 24/7 like myself. I thought it would be a distraction but it wasn't; there is internet connectivity and it was good enough for me to stream a morning English Premier League Soccer match as I made raspberry pancakes overlooking a wonderful valley view from the kitchen window.
Let's discuss the accommodations, definitely a nice humble bunkhouse but very well done with a fantastic location right on the ridge line of the George Washington National Forest overlooking a fabulous meadow and valley below. The views are unbelievable, the bunkhouse is very nicely secluded and the accommodations are first class. The water from the faucets I assume is well-fed and has no after taste or any sense of sulfur at all. The water pressure was great, the bedding, pillows and towels were first rate and everything was up to date. The nicest part of the bunkhouse is the 3 level deck that they have built, it's not 3 stories by any means, but there is a really nice porch off of the front of the bunkhouse and then there is another level two steps down with a very nice picnic table and then one more level down that has a wonderful set of lounge chairs to sit and enjoy the valley below or the stars above. Overall the place was spotless
Additionally there is a great fire pit, we were only there two nights and didn't have time to take advantage of that but it looked great, and we didn't notice until we were just leaving but there is a gazebo tucked away along the woods line down the meadow to the right of the bunkhouse that looked great.
We did get to meet Keith as we arrived after dark and finding the bunkhouse was a bit of a challenge. He met us and drove us up to the bunkhouse, a very nice guy, and lives right on the property and if anything went wrong he would be available immediately. We didn't get to meet his family but they did have a Fall festival the weekend we were there, we were running late for our activities so we didn't stop in though we were invited, and they probably had 50-75 people at the festival and it looked like a wonderful time. Obviously a great family with deep roots in the local community and that is always really nice to increase the overall comfort of the rental. We certainly could've chosen something less expensive but the value was well worth the money spent. My wife and I highly recommend this wonderful VRBO renta
