My siblings and I just spent a week at Holly House--it was lovely. It was top-of-the-line clean and everything was easy to find and in working order. The house is quaint--in the best of ways--but somehow it also manages to be roomy. There are several areas that invite being together, and there is also plenty of room be alone, when needed. We especially enjoyed eating at the table in the back yard.Very, very comfortable. We could not have felt more at home.
Mike and Connie were extremely communicative hosts. When we did have needs, as people do who stay somewhere for a week, they answered and were 100% helpful right away. And yes, the freshly baked cookies were waiting for us---such a nice and welcoming touch.
We loved Beaverdam Park's hiking trails and boat rentals. While we were visiting, the produce and fresh fish market on Main St was still running--I don't know if they only operate seasonally--and that is the place to get local, fresh food! The vegetarians among us were happy to find Sweet Tooth Cafe on Main St--not just sweets! Plenty of other good restaurants are an easy walk away from the house. The proximity to town is another reason it was such a great place to stay.
I highly recommend Holly House.
