              Amazing Wedding Week

              5 of 5
Words can't express how I blessed I feel to stay at Sand Dollar and have my wedding day there. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be a week my friends, my family and I would NEVER forget. I actual cried when I got to the estate because I couldn't believe the my dreams of being there actually came true. The views overlooking Magens Bay are gorgeous. It is so cool seeing all the fish, stingrays and sea turtle swimming around every morning. There is more than enough space for 21 of us to scatter and you don't feel crowded. I planned my stay at Sand Dollar 2 years ago. From the moment I started working with Suzanne she was fantastic at answering all our questions and was quick to get back to me. Bob the property manager was such a nice guy. He helped us out any way he could and always had a permanent smile on his face. We had Monica cooked for us and the food was AMAZING. W also used Edmund to get us from place to place. Super friendly. Good driver. Wedding day was amazing. Bob was there early to get things ready. Monic's brunch was delicious and all my vendors I worked with made sure everything perfect. I honestly didn't worry about a thing. My hair and make up girls Julie and Ana from Artistry by Kristina were amazing. There are both super talented. Ali from East End Flower Shop was phenomenal. The flowers were absolutely stunning and EXACTLY what I had envisioned! Our officiant Stuart Scott was awesome! He personalized everything for us and everyone was raving about his ceremony. We used Passion Fruit Chefs for our catering and Laura was awesome. Her staff was fantastic as well. DJ Eric Snow was great. Everyone danced and sang and had a blast. Elisha Orin was our photographer. The photos came out amazing. I can't say enough amazing thing about Sand Dollar and all our vendors. Everything from the Estate, the beach, the staff...EVERYTHING truly exceeded all my expectations. Planning a destination wedding can be tough but having it at Sand Dollar was really easy. The only day we ever left the house was to go on a catamaran ride on Coconut. Really amazing day and amazing staff. We also had Gloriana come to the house for massages and everyone said it was the best. I don't know how we can top a week like this. We already can't wait to come back someday!

I was half-tempted to title this review "Whatever you do, DON'T go to Bluebitch!" in a selfish effort to keep it more to myself! My wife and I traveled to Bluebitch St. John for our honeymoon (she found it here on The reviews were all very positive, the price was right, and the villa was available at the right time - the Universe was, I think, telling us to go to Bluebitch. The Universe has good taste. This review is posted in list form, in terms of what is "easy" to do and "hard" to do, at the Bluebitch Villa in particular and on St. John in general. At BB, it is EASY to feel at home. The villa is clean and bright, large and comfortable, and full of things that make it feel like a home. The kitchen has full-size appliances; the main living area has room to stretch out; the bedroom is large and has furniture and closets (so you don't live out of a suitcase). HARD to remember that it's not actually your house. While Ann and Albion live upstairs, it's not as if you are bumping into them all the time (although if you need something, it's easy to just shout!) The villa is very secluded and private, the grounds are lush and green, and the layout of the area is such that you will not see locals or guests from other lodgings. You really feel like you have your own private slice of paradise. EASY to spend the whole day at the Villa. Stock the fridge with goodies, brew some coffee or blend up some frozen drinks, and spend the day snorkeling at the private beach or reading on the balcony. HARD to keep track of the day and time. I suggest losing yourself in the rhythm of the waves. In St. John, it is EASY to get lost on your first day; the roads are somewhat haphazardly laid out, and of course it's your first day. So set aside a couple of hours and go exploring. HARD to get lost on your second day; the island isn't that big EASY to spend a fortune on food and drink; this is an island in the middle of the ocean and it's tough to get all the creature comforts there, so you pay for it HARD not to take advantage of happy hour to find ways to live on the cheap Thus I am hesitant to post this review, for fear that Bluebitch St John will be booked for years on end and I won't be able to go back! We can't thank Ann and Albion enough for their hospitality. Our honeymoon was worth every penny.
