The excited gasps started from the minute Curlson opened that big wooden door, leading to the most breathtaking views on St. Thomas! The pictures can't convey the feeling you get when you are on the lanai, looking at the aqua water and several islands on the horizon. Just beautiful. The whole guest floor is fantastic and we used it all...BBQ, pool, hot tub, outdoor shower and covered lanai/eat-in area. Our two boys, 20 and 17, had their own little house with a bedroom and bathroom as well, although they were up at our house most of the time. :) This was our treat for the Christmas holiday and it was the perfect fit for the four of us. Everyone had their own space and the accommodations that Gail and Curlson provide are not only complete but exemplary! From the honor bar waiting to quench your thirst and start your vaca, to the most comfortable bed welcoming you at the end of the night, these owners have thought of it all. Curlson gave us great tips on where to go on the island - and we followed every one! We ate real island quisine at De Coal Pot and had Christmas "black cake and guavaberry liqueur," an island tradition from a most wonderful Auntie down the street. We found Secret Harbor beach, another of his suggestions, and were so happy we didn't miss out on that....it's gorgeous. The villa comes with plenty of beach towels and chairs, as well as a cooler (and deli stop suggestions from Curlson as well!!) so you can relax, drink a beer (no open container laws here!) and enjoy your picnic while others on the beach are spending big bucks on a gross hot dog. Side note: You MUST get a Painkiller from the bar if you go to Magen's Bay. WOW! Yummo, Strongo. Snorkel there too, to the right side where all of the birds are diving for fish. Take a ferry to Trunk Bay (underwater snorkel trail) and Honeymoon beach on St. John. Try underwater scooters/snorkeling tours with BOSS (I saw a shark!). Visit Blackbeards Castle and walk the 99 Steps for a fun photo. Buy some souvenirs from the Vendors in Charlotte Amalie. Have lunch at Oceana in Frenchtown right on the bay. Get a World Famous Banana Daquiri at Mtn Top ( hard to find). Sit in Drake's Seat at a great photo overlook. Kayak through the mangroves. And enjoy a fishbowl of blue booze at Duffy's. I could go on and on with the many activities and sites these islands have to offer, then come home to your own cliffside villa! Our family made many memories here, with Gail and Curlson being the perfect hosts!
