My wife and our 3 kids (7, 5, 2.5) just returned back from Harmony Harbor early in November and all I can say is WOW! If you are looking for a place in St. Thomas do not look any further! This is one of the most amazing views you will ever find!
We were there during the "rainy" season and we were a bit worried as the forecast before leaving said rain for 2 weeks straight. Well it ended up being sunny for the majority of every day and when it does rain it doesn't last long. Also, there were hardly any bugs which I was surprised about. The owners provide plenty of bug spray just in case but I never had to spray any on and never got bit. The home itself is on the northern side of the island and very convenient to everything. Plus it's away from any of the cruise ship traffic. If you like that though it's only 15 minutes away. The home is a great size. It has 4 bedrooms which was great as well as air conditioning in all the rooms and family rooms. To be honest you could get by without it, but it was nice to have. The best parts about the home were by far the view and the pool. We at lunch outside on the upper deck every day. The kids loved swimming in the pool and it was such a big pool for a vacation home. The view from the pool itself was breathtaking! I almost forgot the most important thing and that was the owners. Debbie is such a nice person and incredibly responsive. I know how difficult it is renting out properties and they couldn't be more accommodating. The property sells itself, but the owners truly seal the deal. You should feel extremely confident booking this place!
As for St. Thomas itself we had a great time. I do recommend renting a jeep. It's nice to have to drive around the island and there are some parts where it's definitely nice to have. It's hilly! The majority of the days we explored the many beaches. Magen's is very nice and I recommend driving to the overlook that looks over Magen's. Our favorite beach was Smith Beach. Very quiet, very few people, beautiful, and brand new facilities. We did take one day to take the car ferry from Red Hook (12-15 minute drive and a 20 minute ferry ride) to St. John. It was $50 to go there and back, but it was great having our jeep there. St. John's is beautiful. Trunk Bay and Hawksnest Beach were so beautiful. Think Kauai but closer!
We'd love to go back. For others considering Harmony Harbor just go ahead and book it!
