My sisters, Mom and I decided to rent Sea La Vie to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday! After doing a bunch of research, we decided that staying at this property was the best option and we are so glad we made that decision! Sea La Vie was about a 40 minute drive from the airport. We rented a car and found the place fairly easily with the help of the GPS. As soon as we parked, Freddie, the on site caretaker, helped us with any questions we had. He was fabulous during our entire 5 day stay. When you walk around the corner to get to the lower unit, you will be in awe at the magnificent views this place has to offer. That was by far our favorite part--the beautiful views of the ocean and island. The infinity pool is perfect, with surrounding patio furniture. The picture shows an umbrella but there wasn't one when we were there so be sure to bring a hat if you want some shade while on the pool patio. The deck is another great option for sitting outside. This is where we ate all of our meals! The unit is perfect for 4 adults. We utilized the kitchen for breakfast, most lunches and dinners. The kitchen has the basic cookware but for some reason was missing a cutting board. There is a coffee maker, blender, toaster, microwave, stove, oven, sink and full refrigerator. We picked up our groceries at Moe's and were happy to enjoy many happy hours while enjoying the view. Bedrooms were comfortable as well. Bring a sleeping mask if you have trouble sleeping in a bright room. Water is precious on the island so be sure to take quick showers and space them apart if you want hot water. We enjoyed the appleTV option in the evening, too. During our stay we checked out Cowpet Bay which was a 5 min drive from the house. While there, you can lounge in the chairs and enjoy the beautiful views. We ate lunch at Sangria's which is right on the water. The food was yummy and so were the drinks. We also booked a sailing and snorkeling excursion with Morningstar Charters. We took the ferry over to St. John and then sailed all day with Mike and Bridget. That was such an amazing day and one we will be sure to remember! Island Time Pub in Red Hook is a good choice if you want pizza, drink specials and a pretty view. Dave was an awesome host and very communicative. He checked in with us during our stay, gave us suggestions on where to go, park, etc. The most difficult part of this trip was having to say good bye. Thanks for an awesome getaway!
