        Relaxing, Cozy, Comfortable

        4 of 5
We spent a week at the Bayview Farm camp Gabriel. Set high above the lake, the cottage is rustic, but comfortable. The bedroom I used had a new wonderfully firm mattress, and the kitchen was sufficient for our needs. The absolute best part of the experience is the screen porch and deck where you can sit in the evenings with a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the Adirondacks. There is not direct lake access from the cottage, but there is a grassy beach just a (very) short walk down the road with kayaks and a canoe available for use. The lake levels are low right now, making the cove pretty still and a little weedy. Because of this we opted to swim in nearby Kingsland Bay State Park, but the beach view is a perfect one. The cottage does sit among several others, but we always felt like we had plenty of privacy. I slept incredibly well with cross breezes from the open windows. We felt so safe, we never locked up the cottage. There is web-enabled television and good wifi, but we never turned on the TV, opting instead to relax and read in the eves. If you do want games or books, you will need to bring them. The cottage does not have a supply. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful. The cottage is situated minutes from Shelburne and Vergennes, and just a short drive to Burlington and Middlebury. It was a great rental for the price. Peaceful, relaxing, and cozy.

        Great, quirky cabin, fantastic location

Loved our stay! We relaxed on the cool porch and soaked in the views, went running through the neighborhood, rowed around the bay and out to some islands, and relaxed. Hinesburgh Public House was an easy drive and had great food, music, and service. Cabin is quirky, but fully stocked; we could have baked or cooked, we did our laundry, and wanted for nothing. We didn't have to share the rowboat or dock and they were in excellent condition. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

        What a Magnificent Place!

Dear Kris, Jordan's cabin is truly one of the greatest places we have ever been. My husband just walked around thanking everyone and me for the beautiful (thank you to you and your family) and special time we had a Jordan's cabin! We walked in and felt like little kids running around to explore such a beautiful place. We vowed our final night there that we would make this a yearly "friendship" weekend for all of us to wind down from the rush of life. This beautiful, calming, home you have shared with all of us, is the best place to do that. Vermont was a first for some of the group but not for the rest, but we all had a spectacular time, from the shops downtown, to the breweries, to the skiing and snowmobiling, but all in all, our conversation always returned to the relaxation we felt when we were there... we had great nights, some of us enjoying the shooting stars from the hot tub, others from the campfire. The men playing chess, the ladies in the fuff chairs watching a chick flick. We made wonderful memories that we will treasure forever. We love Jordan's cabin and we can't wait to come back, it has given us something to look forward too. God Bless you and your family Kris. Bill and Meghan, Jim and Meg, Tim and Lisa and Jenn.
