Awesome ski cottage!

5 of 5
This ski cottage fit my needs perfectly. It was close to all the awesome bars and restaurants that Stowe has to offer and was short drive to Stowe Mountain as well. It's not really a far drive from Jay Peak either if you want to check out that resort too. Louise was very accommodating and I was welcomed with a bucket of cookies on the kitchen table. Coffee and cream was also available. I had an opportunity to meet Louise (when she was shoveling the walkway) and she was even nicer in person. I will definitely look at this location first for future visits to Stowe!

Perfect winter getaway with our 2 dogs

5 of 5
We drove out from Chicago with our two dogs in mid-February for a quick 3-day ski trip to Stowe...and the 16 hour drive was definitely worth it. Not only was the skiing amazing, but Badger Cottage made the trip unforgettable. The cottage is cozy, yet spacious, and full of rustic charm. Lots of reclaimed wood and industrial antique pieces really give the cottage an authentically rustic feel, but the finishes are conveniently modern and sleek for a lovely "best of both worlds" feel. The cottage has hardwood floors throughout, with slate in the foyer, laundry room, and bathroom, which is perfect for easy clean up when our two dogs came in from playing in the snow. The full sized stacked washer and dryer were great for drying wet ski gear each night (and the heater was perfect for drying wet ski boots). We didn't use the gorgeous wood stove this time, but we plan to learn how to use it next time and take full advantage. After skiing all day, the huge king sized bed in the loft upstairs felt like sleeping on clouds. We loved waking up and watching the sun rise from the upper windows. We also loved the single bed on the main floor, which came in handy a few times for post-skiing naps. As for location, the cottage is nice and secluded, but everything you need is only a few minutes away in Waterbury or Stowe, including grocery stores, shopping, take out food, ski equipment shops, etc. The surrounding area is wooded and our dogs loved romping on the trails behind the cottage. They even got to meet the owners' adorable little yorkie mix. This place is surprisingly pet friendly, which is one of the reasons we initially booked it. We felt our dogs were as welcome as we were, which is rare for vacation properties. We loved every minute of our stay at Badger Cottage and we can't wait to come back next winter for a full week (or longer!) Thank you Fritz and Cubby for a perfect winter getaway!!!

Our favorite vacation home-away-from-home!

5 of 5
We have stayed at Virginia's beautiful cottage every summer for the past 3 years and plan to come back this year, as well! Although we vacation other places and take other trips throughout the year, this is the place we feel most at peace. There is something wonderful about the effortless decor of the space and the beautiful landscaping that just feels like home to us. The two master suites on separate floors make this an easy home to share with friends, as we've done several times, and our young daughter can sleep nearby knowing we're close while still giving us privacy! We love walking down the hill into town and biking on the nearby trails. The home itself is full of lots of little comforts. We have adventures during the day and return home at night to put our feet up, play cards, cook, drink wine, and just relax. Virginia makes us feel welcome and cared for, every time! Our daughter calls this "her Vermont house"; it truly is a special place!
