                                        Amazing Vermont getaway!

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 toddlers. Chris was very communicative about our arrival and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok. The house was very clean and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the cottage was way bigger than we expected; the kitchen, living area and dining area are all open to each other so we had plenty of communal space. The bedrooms were very quiet due to their layout which was great because we were traveling with a 15 month and 17 month old but they didn't bother each other despite sleeping in adjacent rooms. The screened porch was amazing for dinner, relaxing at night or just having a smaller room for the toddlers to play in without having to chase them all around :) The beach deck was awesome and pretty unique and the beach itself was great. It's rocky but that was really a plus for us as the babies loved playing in the rocks and there was also a bit of sandy area to for them to play in. Once you walk out a few feet into the water there was also a sandy but shallow area we we could sit with the babies and play. The water itself was clear and not seaweed-y. This was definitely the best beach we've encountered at the various rentals we've stayed at on the lake. The kitchen was well equipped and we definitely appreciated the convenience of the water cooler and two refrigerators (can you say beer fridge??!). We loved St. Albans and hope next time we can explore a little more of the surrounding areas but for this trip we were happy staying at the house almost the whole time. Burlington is a quick 45 minute drive and you can get to Canada in about 20 minutes if you're looking for more to do. We also enjoyed Kill Kare State park for an afternoon (10 minutes or so). Grocery stores and Walmart about 15 minutes. Thank you to the Poulin Family for sharing their house with us and we sincerely hope to return next summer.

                                        Perfect Gateway 3

We've been to this location yearly for the last three years. We love going there for vacation. The homeowner is very hospitable and friendly. The location is easy to get to. The cabin itself has plenty of kitchenware, pots and pans, and other things that you might need, and plenty of charming knick knacks that make you feel at home and cozy. There are two bedrooms, one of which has a very sturdy bunk bed. The living room has plenty of comfortable chairs and tables, including a couch that folds out into a bed should you require it. The door leads out to a deck with a table and four chairs with a nice view of the lake. The lake is very close to the cabin. We've never had any problems with the bathroom. The homeowner also gives you access to the internet, which is very fast. The last time we were there, she upgraded to even fast internet that has both a 2.4 GHz and a 5 GHz connection. We had 4 cell phones, 2 laptops, and 2 Nintendo 3DSes connected to it all at the same time and had no problems. The kitchen, as stated before, has all of the kitchenware you would need. Plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, cups, etc. There is a microwave, toaster, toaster oven, and refrigerator that all work optimally. There's even a gas grill outside that we used the last trip to excellent results. We love coming here every year, and every time we leave we can't wait to come back. We highly recommend staying here for a vacation.

                                        Quiet getaway in Beautiful surroundings!

Staying here at Stony Brook Farm was one of the best vacations I have ever had. Quiet surroundings with views of pastures, forests and red Vermont barns. It was a pleasure watching the herd of goats come out every morning and scamper in the sun. I would sit out on the deck and listen to the brook in the background, the crows, the bluejays and other song birds. Great location: not far from Burlington or St. Johnsbury. Close to Cabot and Ben & Jerry's. We visited wineries, breweries, a distillery, art galleries, farm stands and had an awesome tour of a maple syrup producer. Carol and Tom were great hosts, providing beach towels when we were about to go kayaking! The cottage was very clean and homey, providing what we needed and more. There isn't any WIFI but trust me, that is a plus, not a negative. :) Carol provides movies and games to entertain children of all ages. I highly recommend visiting Tom and Carol at Stony Brook Farm, especially if you have young children. They will love it. I sincerely hope to be able to visit there soon and often.
