                              Great place, great people

We were 11 guys staying here for 5 days of snowboarding. The house is really great. It was super awesome that the house has 11 comfortable beds, so there was ample room to sleep. The kitchen and the bathrooms were great and clean. It was also really nice to use the hot tub when we got back everyday. There was a slight miscommunication about the dates, because we landed in SLC around midnight on Saturday night, but there was another group staying in the house until Sunday morning. This really could have been a mess, especially considering that we all wanted to go to sleep right away to get to the mountain early. The owners resolved the situation immediately though, by putting us up in a hotel nearby and coming by the hotel early in the morning to pick up our luggage so that we could go straight to the mountain. When we arrived at the house after our first day of riding, the owners were there fixing one of the toilets on their own, because the previous group did who knows what to it, and it was Sunday, so they couldn't get a repairman to fix it. It did not take them long, and they were very friendly. After that first day, which really could have been terrible, but wasn't, everything went really smoothly. As a side note, it was definitely beneficial to have rented cars in that area, even though there is a bus system. All in all, thanks to the owners for being so awesome.

Very comfortable house for multiple families, super convenient to Park City base area

We had a great stay at this house. There was plenty of room for our two families with eight total guests. We originally had plans for another family to join us, but their plans fell through. There easily would have been enough room for another family of four to join us -- the loft area would be a great place to throw a horde of kids. Two big bedrooms on the upper level have their own bathroom. The two bedrooms on the lower level share a bath, so that was a bit of a bottleneck, but fortunately there is a full bathroom on the main level right off the kitchen (conveniently located next to the hot tub) that everyone could use. The kitchen and dining area are enormous, and there is plenty of tableware. We also appreciated the plethora of hooks throughout the house which were very useful for hanging all kinds of ski clothing and equipment. The house is really conveniently located between the Park City base area and town. The base area was less than a five minute downhill walk away. The uphill walk home with ski boots on was a little challenging. Fortunately, you can check your skis overnight at the base area for $5, making the walk home a little easier. Of course, you can also drive 300 yards from the house and park in the big resort lot (which we definitely did). But if you have people skiing on different schedules, it's totally doable to walk to and from the house. For most dinners, we walked into town. Main street is about a 10 minute walk away. Walking there was a piece of cake -- all downhill. Walking home in the thin mountain air was an aerobic challenge, but we enjoyed the 213 stairs from Park Avenue up to Lowell St. Even though the house is a duplex, it felt completely private because it backs up to the ski mountain. Please be aware that a Suburban does not fit in the garage. There was no problem with parking right in front of the garage, however. The exterior of the house needs a new coat of paint, but the interior looks and feels great. We'd happily stay there again.

The Perfect House For a Large Skiing Family

                              5 of 5
After renting numerous Utah Ski Homes, I can state the Bear Path Lodge is my favorite. The home is laid out perfectly for large groups with ample bedding and bathrooms. No worries about hot water or amenities, the Bear Path Lodge has it all. The boot/glove dryer is a terrific bonus; we had dry boots and gloves every morning. If you travel to the many Utah ski resorts, access is awesome, one block off Rt. 224, one mile from I-80 and 2 miles from the Canyons Ski Resort. The caretaker John Spencer is marvelous. I will definitely be in the market to return to the Bear Path Lodge.
