A glorious retreat in the Cotswolds

                                  5 of 5
Capturing the best of all worlds, One approaches Fox End to see the quintessential Cotswold House, thatched roof and all, set in beautiful grounds. Inside, the house has beautiful period details and every contemporary convenience one could imagine We were five adults, but the four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths could comfortably accommodate eight. And while I say adults, the house is well equipped with games and puzzles galore. While at home the BBC is a popular outlet, we never did turn n the television here, helping to reenforce our withdrawal from real world pressure. Short day trips here and there to the beautiful Cotswold towns provided just the right amount of entertainment. One evening we had dinner and then attended a play at the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford Our hosts have prepared a very helpful guide about how the house works, and about pubs, restaurants and nearby sights Fox End's neighbor, a short walk away is Chastleton House, a National Trust House with a fascinating history. Several hours in the house and well maintained gardens can be followed, on many days, with tea in the attached church. One must have a car and be comfortable negotiating the narrow but well marked roads

                                  Dream of an Oxford Flat

                                  5 of 5
The other reviews say it all, and the only thing I have to add is that it's all still true. We adored staying in this beautiful, classic apartment, and only wished we could have stayed even longer. High ceilings, classic details, glorious light, stylish, contemporary furnishings, high-quality appliances. The street is quiet but with the wide view of the neighboring Victorians across the front garden you still feel like you are "somewhere," watching people cycle by, even when sitting in the living room. Very well-equipped, property manager welcoming and helpful -- we couldn't have been happier with our stay.

                                  Idyllic Location

                                  5 of 5
This was a very good find indeed. The cottage is just delightful and it's conversion from an old stable has been very well done and excellently thought out. Never hot-tubbed before and quite frankly we are missing it already! Just luxurious to come home from exploring all the lovely places in the Cotswolds and then relax in the Jacuzzi. (you've spoilt us now we will expect such luxury wherever we go!). It is so peaceful and restful in this little cottage especially enjoyed having the animals around and about. The owners are very friendly and helpful and around if you need them but also the cottage feels very private too. We enjoyed visiting Blenheim Palace, Hidcote Manor Gardens, mooching around the quintessential Cotswolds villages and market towns such as Burford, Bourton-on-the-water, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Camden to name a few. We particularly enjoyed visiting the open village gardens in Langford and it seemed there was a garden open somewhere everyday in June. We had some excellent meals in the nearby Mason Arms and at the Falkland Inn in Great Tew. We would stay here again without a moments hesitation and hope to do so. Thank you Jonathan & Jane for sharing your lovely Cotswold farmstead and not keeping it all to yourselves!
