                      A Barn that Charms

                      5 of 5
We loved our stay here! Travelling back from the US we used the Reading Room as a base to see friends & family and celebrate a milestone birthday during the summer. We loved the living space and big garden, plus with the gates everything is enclosed we could let the kids run and play. Having the big dining table & big garden tables meant you can host plenty of people and never feel like you are crammed in. We liked the open plan living room with the mezzanine bedroom above, yes some noise will drift up; but in that case the other 3 bedrooms are quiet so choose accordingly ;) All bedrooms are really comfy with plenty of storage for both your clothes and the suitcases. The kitchen was well equipped and the pantry had all the essentials that you need like salt & pepper, foil etc on arrival. If you need the basics the village shop is a 1 minute walk (you must buy one of their home made steak & kidney pies), or Sainsburys is a short drive. (We had Sainsbury deliver to the Reading Room the afternoon we arrived which made life even easier). Through the house there are lots of nice touches with the Wii, boardgames, books, and art etc that make you feel very homely. The interweb was also fine. In the village the Red Lion really is a great pub. The garden has stuff for the kids while you have a pint. Inside its packed with charm and the food was excellent. The landlady is also very friendly, despite the ice machine breaking that day she still let us take a bucket of ice for our BBQ without charge. We hopefully repaid her by popping in most days through our stay. Around the areas there's lots to do so a great village to use as a home while you explore the Cotswolds. We really hope to be back!
