Capturing the best of all worlds, One approaches Fox End to see the quintessential Cotswold House, thatched roof and all, set in beautiful grounds.
Inside, the house has beautiful period details and every contemporary convenience one could imagine
We were five adults, but the four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths could comfortably accommodate eight. And while I say adults, the house is well equipped with games and puzzles galore. While at home the BBC is a popular outlet, we never did turn n the television here, helping to reenforce our withdrawal from real world pressure. Short day trips here and there to the beautiful Cotswold towns provided just the right amount of entertainment. One evening we had dinner and then attended a play at the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford
Our hosts have prepared a very helpful guide about how the house works, and about pubs, restaurants and nearby sights
Fox End's neighbor, a short walk away is Chastleton House, a National Trust House with a fascinating history. Several hours in the house and well maintained gardens can be followed, on many days, with tea in the attached church.
One must have a car and be comfortable negotiating the narrow but well marked roads
