We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Kendara from March 25 April 1, 2017. And what a pleasure it was! Carol was great to work with as we reserved the villa – always very responsive to emails and she made the process easy. The apartment is as described and as represented in the photos. Very clean, lots of kitchenware, and a very nice layout. The kitchen allows you to cook as much (or as little) as you want. Carol and Tom were there for most of the week and they were available if needed, but there was also enough privacy because the apartment is detached from their main villa. The Johnson Guides are as described and invaluable. We had friends that stayed at a villa on Taylor Bay and they were jealous of the information we had! The location was good for us as a central “base”. The apartment has an alarm and we never felt unsafe. The pool is beautiful but we really didn’t use it too much because we rented a SUV from Grace Bay Car Rental and went to a ton of beaches during the week, including Grace Bay, Leeward/Pelican, Long Bay (out the door!), Malcom (our favorite), Taylor Bay, as well as a few beaches during our day trip to North/Middle Caicos. The trip to North and Middle Caicos is great and we’d definitely recommend it. Use Carol’s guide and plan ahead for a great day! Mudjin Harbor, Horse Stable Beach, and the beach off Cedar Point at the very end of Wild Cow Run were a few of the highlights for us. One afternoon we snorkeled at Bight Reef which was exceptional, and we also did a half-day snorkel tour with Caicos Dream Tours, which was awesome. Some great snorkeling, a beautiful beach stop at Half Moon Bay, and lots of rum punch and fun! For dining Carol recommended the Flamingo Café and we loved it, eating 2 dinners there. We loved the cracked conch and Grouper! We also had great meals at Coco Bistro, Hemmingway’s, Kalooki’s, Big Al’s (lunch), Somewhere Café, and Mudjin Harbor Café on Middle Caicos. Thanks Carol and Tom - we loved TCI and hope to be back to enjoy Villa Kendara in the not too distant future!
