This apartment is wonderful and so well-equipped. We often stay in vacation apartments and I've never seen one so well stocked with all you could need. Everything from plenty of linens, extra toiletries, books/DVDs, an iPad and more. John met us at Bangkok airport and had also stocked the place with some snacks, which was great with a late arrival (also arranged transport back and forth for us).
The setting is absolutely relaxing and beautiful. The front porch overlooks the meandering pools and lush greenery (there is nearby construction on the Marriott, but we were forewarned of this and it was still very peaceful compared to our day-to-day noise in Shanghai). Mosquitos are pretty relentless there, but the apartment even had mosquito coils there to burn and repellent (must use!). Great to sit out and relax, tons of vacation reading material. The master bedroom looks on to the lush greenery and even with the shades down you can see the view and feel so peaceful.
Nice kitchen space too, so you can stock up on some groceries and at least have snacks or breakfast right at the apartment. The stovetop was a bit slow to cook; plenty of dishware etc. There's so much great Thai food to be had, you probably won't be cooking any major meals anyway! We loved all the space, the decor is so zen! You will feel right at home (only better)!
The wifi in the apartment was the only challenge for us, but on a positive note it did force us to disconnect which is what we should be doing on the beach. As a freelancer, wifi is important to me though and the apartment's wifi was for one device at a time and seemed to only connect to the spots with a very weak signal. We got local SIM cards and then used our phones mainly for general searching/info. Jean also provides an iPad to connect...so for most people/situations, there's probably plenty of connectivity. There is also a computer room available.
The complex's pool is great! Infinity pool looking over the beach...so amazing! We were there in the off-season so very few people. We enjoyed lovely strolls on the beach, though jellyfish were bad. That's the great thing about the pool...you can feel "on the beach" without worry about sea creatures:-).
You are a short walk in to town and along the beach, there are several resorts nearby to go for a drink or lunch. Also a quick stroll to Villa Supermarket or Tesco and plenty of shops, coffee spots, convenience stores, etc. nearby. Hua Hin is a wonderful little town!
