We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to the farmhouse and saw the house and the gardens. There were beautiful flowerbeds and vegetable gardens. Our girls enjoyed the goats, chickens, and rabbits immensely. The house has so much character, especially in the original section with the finished wooden floors and walls.
It has all the amenities of home, including a washer, dryer, and a full kitchen....all much appreciated when traveling with kids! The house was well located between Elizabethton and Jonesborough. We were in town for the National Storytelling Festival and took side trips to see the Elizabethton covered bridge and even attended Mass in Johnson City.
What we enjoyed most about the house was the front and back porches. It was so peaceful to sit outside and enjoy the beauty of nature! It was a pleasure to meet the owner, Randy, and we thank him for letting us enjoy some fresh eggplant, lettuce, and bell pepper from the garden. It was delicious! He has a hidden gem in this property and it was such a joy to stay here for seven glorious days. A peaceful home away from our true Louisiana home!
