                Great stay!

                5 of 5
Great place to stay with the family. We comfortably put up 2 adults and 2 teenage boys, and the apartment is so large you can also get lost there! Lots of supplies, huge kitchen with dining room, everything clean. The price is very reasonable and the hosts are very hospitable and always ready to help. Located outside of Luzern, but with easy connection by bus or train. Peaceful and quiet setting of the area, with mountains as the backdrop, was definitely a great experience. No complains or regrets.

                Mountain view suite

                5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay in Lucerne, in this flat and enjoyed Beatrice’s hospitality. She provided helpful tips regarding local restaurants, and the flat had many brochures on attractions in the Lucerne area. She picked us up at the Horw train station and dropped us off at the end of our stay, which we very much appreciated, as the flat is at the top of a long, fairly steep, switchbacking street….which also means there was a lovely mountain view. The apartment is spacious and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal preparation. The bus stop is a 10 minute walk down the hill, and one bus took us right into the centre of Lucerne within 15 minutes; it runs about every 10 minutes, into the evening, which was great. From the downtown drop off, the train station and the boat docks are steps away, creating seamless transfers. The Swiss Museum of Transportation was worth the visit, because of its innovative ways to teach all ages about modes of transportation, with lots of hands on experiences. Families with children should not miss this! We had a Swiss Rail Pass, which covered the costs of trains, buses, boat cruises, some museums and gondolas. For certain gondolas and special tour trains, we received a discount. The boat system for exploring Lake Lucerne and points around it is extensive. One day we took the boat, and got dropped off to catch the train up to Rigi Holm(Mt. Rigi). We were able to see the vistas at the mountain top, then walk down the trails, stop for a coffee at a mountain side hotel, and continue further down to another village, and catch the gondola back down to catch the boat back to Lucerne. Quite memorable! Another day we took the full boat tour around the lake, with one stop at a town along the way for lunch. We enjoyed seeing the many towns and villages as well as the fiord-like surroundings and mountain scenery. We are glad we had the opportunity to spend a week in the Lucerne area….so much natural beauty and history to enjoy, and would stay in Beatrice’s flat again if we returned. We rate this property excellent!

                Down to Earth Peaceful Bliss

                5 of 5
Loved the views and the quiet peaceful environment. I stayed with my son and a colleague as we visited Lucern. We drove into Lucern each day and parked at the Transportation Museum. Although we didn't meet the owner until our last night, the facility was very clean and perfect for our stay. We arrived and my son and I played ping pong outside next to the goats with a view of the Alps. What more could a mom ask for! I'm hoping to return someday with my husband and friends. I will look for availability here first. The bike/walking trails are all around and I know my husband loves to do both. Great place for family, couples, or anyone who likes a peaceful bliss close to travel adventures. The second bedroom does require agile navigation with winding stairs. Not good for older generation or less agile adults. Awesome for kids! I'm a teacher in the states and wish I could afford to bring all my students here. Great price as well. Switzerland is very expensive. If you are traveling from another country, bring groceries.
