Last month, my family and friends flew to Saint Lucia for a week's stay at Caille Blanc Villa. Our group consisted of four adults and five kids (ages 6 through 15). To sum up all of what is about to follow, the home is amazing, the staff are incredible and the view is beautiful.
Before departing we had several conversations with the home's owner, Owen Coleman. Mr. Coleman provided a lot of information and guidance that proved to be accurate and valuable. On his website for the villa there is a "FAQ" that may be a little dated, but still offered a wealth of information. We actually referred to this document many times during our stay on the island.
There was ample sleeping room for our group of nine. Each of the villas was appointed uniquely and offered individualistic charm. Bedding arrangements varied between the suites. Most suites had a large bed (either King or Queen) and then a daybed, just right for children. Air conditioning was available in each suite but only in Temple and Pool were you really able to isolate off the room from the outside environment. In the other rooms, the AC just cooled off the fresh breeze. Many nights we would go to sleep a little warm but wake up in the morning almost cold. Two of the suites have totally exposed “facilities” in an island fashion. The shower and the toilet are open-aired with full view of the Pintons and the bay one hundred meters below.
A key feature to this property is the amazing infinity pool. We spent hours each day in or by the pool. The pool was lit in the evening and it created an unforgettable scene with Petit Piton standing across the bay.
While the property itself deserves more accolades than I can heap on it, our praise for the house’s staff exceeds the home itself. Each staff member was friendly and helpful but the best part was that they went about their various tasks and duties without distracting from our relaxation and privacy. If you asked a question they would take the time to sit and chat. If you needed most anything, they could provide it for you, but when you didn’t engage them they disappeared back into their work. It was wonderful.
I’ve traveled all over the world and to many beautiful places in the Caribbean, and I can say with little hesitation that Caille Blanc is among the nicest properties I have ever been privileged enough to stay in.
