Recent La Ribera El Borne Reviews

          Stylish and comfortable.

          5 of 5
We were quite pleased with this apartment. The location was perfect for us, where the Barri Gotic, Barcelonetta, and the Born meet and a bus stop right out front. We didn't cook, but the kitchen is well appointed. I'm sure Cervantes enjoyed his stay as well.

          Excellent location

          4 of 5
My husband and I stayed 4 days in Flavia's apartment, which I selected after reading all the positive reviews. For the most part, we were very happy with the choice. The location in the Born district is superb - great restaurants nearby, we were able to walk nearly everywhere, and the Jaume metro station was very handy for traveling to further-out destinations. We liked the terraces, though after one torrential 10-min. rain the seat cushions remained soaked for days, forcing us to eat breakfast at the tiny kitchen counter. Also, the terraces provide no view of the street below, unless you stand at the edge and look down, so it was impossible to people-watch. As other reviewers pointed out, the stairs are an adventure in the middle of the night, but we quickly adapted by leaving a light on downstairs for safety. Other minor inconveniences: the washing machine was a nice amenity, but there was nowhere to hang the wet clothing, and when we departed 2 days later some of it was still damp. And the wifi password was ridiculously long and complex, requiring nearly a half hour of attempts to successfully log on. Our only real dissatisfaction, however, was the uncomfortable bed. Sadly, we awoke each morning feeling exhausted rather than rested. I expect some discomfort when traveling, but a good bed is essential.
