Centralized Location and centralized air conditioning

                                5 of 5
The apartment is centrally located and has central air conditioning! University subway station is minutes away and makes it convenient to get around town. The newly renovated finishes are beautiful! We love how clean the bathrooms and kitchen areas are. The bedrooms are also great because they are relatively similar in size and every room can fit two people. Thank you for Lending us your beautiful place!

The apartment is beautiful and in a fantastic location.

                                4 of 5
My husband and I stayed in the apartment for one month during summer 2016. It is spacious, comfortable, and architecturally beautiful. It is on a main boulevard near the water with a view of Barcolonetta out the front window/balcony. To the left is Born, and behind the apartment is the Gothic Quarter. It's about a 8-10 minute walk to La Rambla and the Line 3 Metro (Drassanes). There is another metro stop in Barcelonetta about the same distance from the apartment. The apartment has an alley on one side, and at night the downstairs bedroom gets a lot of street/alley noise. We slept primarily in the loft bedroom which was much quieter. The beds are firm and comfortable. The apartment is above a restaurant in a row of restaurants, and within walking distance of many great cafes, bars, convenience stores, etc. Although there is an elevator in the building, the apartment is on the first floor above the ground floor, and the stairs lead to a hallway with two apartments. We saw people once leaving other apartment, and we didn't hear people coming or going. It is not an apartment building where locals live; it appears to be more of a second apartment type building where some people rent out to tourists. Rarely did we run into people coming or going at the building door (on the alley), but the alley gets fairly regular foot traffic. We felt very secure here. We cooked in the apartment, did laundry, worked remotely (great internet service), and for the most part recreated our lives in a great new setting. We did not have much interaction with the hosts (Rebeca and her brother Alex), but they were very nice and accommodating. It was definitely a great apartment for us -- bigger than we actually needed. I recommend the apartment!

Perfect Apartment in El Born (Barcelona)

                                5 of 5
This one-bedroom apartment is directly across the street from the basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, in the lively El Born quarter. The apartment was spotlessly clean. The kitchen and bath are newly installed, highly modern and functional. There is no dishwasher (unless you count me!), but there is a handy dish drying rack. The fridge is a small under-counter unit, and works well. The lower level of the apartment contains the galley kitchen area, a large terrace overlooking the basilica, the bathroom and the living room area. The couch in the living area becomes a pull-out bed. We did not use it, but we did open it and it seemed as comfortable as a pull-out bed can be. A steep but pretty stairway accesses the second level bedroom loft, which has its own smaller terrace with a table and a pretty arbor that provides shade. The bedroom has an air conditioner, which works well. The apartment is situated on the 5th and 6th (European) levels of the building, There is an elevator that is accessed from the street level by climbing one level of stairs. The door to the street is locked and seems secure. Everything you need is in the neighborhood. A nice little grocery store that has a cute wine cellar is just down the street. The market of Sta Caterina is in the quarter. The Jaume I metro stop is 2-3 blocks away. You can easily walk to El Raval, the Barri Gotic, Barceloneta and the Eixample neighborhoods without using the metro, but it is nice to have when the legs get tired. (Buy the T-10 ticket and share it!) Although the quarter is very lively, we never heard any street sound when we went to bed. There are hurricane shutter window shades outside that keep out light and noise and the "white noise" of the air conditioner covers street sounds. You do however, hear the church bells that begin ringing on the quarter hour beginning at 7:00. They generally didn't wake us up until after 8, but they do start at 7. The apartment owner, Flavia, is very good to deal with. Her communication is prompt and clear. She seems to be a very nice and caring person. The person who met us at the apartment, Lucas, was a good communicator and promptly answered my text messages. He met us at the apartment precisely as planned. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return. Carl and Jodee Charlotte, NC
