            Great house in Julian Alps

            4 of 5
This is a beautiful and well-equipped and tastefully decorated house with superb views of the Julian Alps. Easily located for Italy or Slovenia and peacefully situated. Our week was punctuated by quite a long storm, so you do need to realise Alpine weather is unpredictable, but we also had hot weather, and there are superb locations for swimming. Host makes everything easy and there is plenty of clear information provided.

Excellent secluded getaway in the Julian Alps

            5 of 5
My family and I (kids age 21 and 7) spent a week @ Hisa Brdo this summer. We've long looke at Slovenia as a holiday destination and it exceeded even our high expectations. John's charming house had a whole lot to do with it. Secluded, but 15-20 minutes by car to town, with a small village on either direction. An hour to 2 hour drive to just about anything most people would like to see in the region. The century+ year old House is well-updated but has a ton of old mountain area charm. Honestly - there is nothing wanting. Perfect for a family of 4. John was a gracious host and fishing guide for this Rocky Mountain trout bum. The roads are narrow as others have mentioned, and some care (more or less - 'just go slow') needs to be taken, but this little slice of the world is not to be missed. We can't wait to return. I simply can't recommend it highly enough for someone considering a laid back Slovenian mountain holiday.
