        Recent Wickford Reviews

Truly a home away from home.

The yellow house on Elam St in Wickford just wraps its arms around you. There is a feeling of peace here. The owner, Jan, is available and eager to make your stay better in any way she can. The location on the tidal pond with its waterfall makes a perfect yard for relaxing. Wickford and its shops and restaurants are just steps away but there is no traffic or noise to disturb your stay. This is not a modern hotel with its sterile atmosphere. This is a 200 year old house which has sheltered many folks. I will return!

        Beautiful get-away

        4 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay! This place is so relaxing with the lake and the beautiful garden! We do miss the great view on the little lake! Communication and evety thing else with our host, Jan, was so easy to deal with and she gave us great recommendations for what to do and where to go. The house itself is just like on the pictures - traditionally "old" but so comfortable and has really everything you need. We would definitly come again.

        Memories are made here!

My husband & I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here at the Sunflower House. This place has a special meaning for us & that's why we were delighted to return here to have a nostalgic vacation. You see, 50 years ago my hubby was in the Navy & stationed at the nearby Seabee base. He rented an apartment upstairs in this very house. This is where we began our life together as young newlyweds. Life had taken us back to Oregon after the Navy. When my husband asked what I wanted to do for our 50th anniversary I said I want to return to Wickford. We'd traveled to the area in 2011& found that it might be possible to rent the downstairs apartment. Wow! What a grand idea! We were pleased with all the upgrades & the super friendly & helpful owner. We enjoyed reading the history of the house & once again exploring the area. 38 Brown Street is indeed very special to us & will be forever. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
