What a great place to stay! The condo unit itself is spacious and full of light (and the lulling sound of waves). Comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen, a spacious living room and in-unit laundry facilities made our week here very pleasant and relaxing. A short drive into the town of Manati brought us to a variety of stores and restaurants where we could pick up provisions. The gated community location felt friendly and safe; and we enjoyed walking across the little interior street to our own beach overlook (equipped with chairs and a table, perfect for enjoying the sunset and a drink of choice). The beach in front of the condo is rocky and interesting - not a place for swimming but a great spot for photographs. For swimming, we loved Bob's recommendation of the Vega Baja Beach, just a 10 minute drive from the condo, where we could wade and dip in the calm water, protected by huge rocks from the noisy surf behind. That beach was just one of the interesting places to go on day trips from the condo: we visited the historic nearby sugar plantation, drove to El Lago de Dos Bocas where you can ride a small launch to a lakeside restaurant, we followed the coast road west to Arecibo two days of our stay and found quirky restaurants to eat at and one day we explored the mountainous karst area (also just a short drive away) on our way to Utuado where there is a fascinating museum of the indigenous Taino culture. So this condo could be perfect for visitors who want to explore the area or for those who want to relax and "beach it" - or for a combination of the same. Bob is very easy to work with, quick to respond to requests and had many helpful recommendations for us.
