I had a group of 13 people, mostly from the Rocky Mountains in Utah. We pulled up and the first thing people said was "this big one is where we are staying?!" Casa Glad had all we needed, and everyone had a bed, so it's good for big groups/families. You are only a few steps from the beach, which is a great spot to hang out and relax. The sand is good, and there is constantly waves rolling in with a nice breeze. As far swimming goes, I would recommend caution. We found out when high tide was and were able to swim ok, but there are some rocks that can be dangerous if you're not careful. They are a little ways out though, so getting in up to your thighs to just relax and enjoy is great. We weren't used to the hot humidity in PR, so it was a little warm. Opening the big doors helped because there was a nice breeze. At night you can turn on small air conditioning units in the bedrooms that are amazing to sleep with.
I had no problems at all with booking or paying, and everything was great when we showed up. The house is kind of in a commercial area, which was good because there are plenty of stores near by. Some great food stands literally right up the street to get "pinchos" (kebabs) or sandwiches, and a nice little cafe called "Delicias" at the top of the street with espresso and great breakfast. Although it is a somewhat commercial area, once you get to the end of the little road where the house is, you're in your own little paradise. The waves, the palm trees (with iguanas and tiny little lizards here and there) the breeze...just so great!
This is a great place if you don't want to be in the middle of San Juan and all the touristy stuff. There are some great things nearby too! Cueva del Indio was really cool, good surfing in Isabella...if you can, take a beautiful drive to San Sebastián and go to Gozalandia Falls, you won't regret it.
All in all, Casa Glad was exactly what my group wanted. I would absolutely recommend this place, especially if you want to get out of San Juan and see a little more of what Puerto Rico has to offer!
