                    Recent Sintra Reviews

                    Pure meditation...

It was a rare case when the reality exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the house for the period from mid of December 2016 till mid of January 2017 with three kids. The house has everything you need for the family vacation. The land plot is fantastic. With a beautiful garden and a large territory kids can play outside the house and you don’t need to be worry for their safeness. I have to admit that Sintra is a tricky place. It has a variety of microclimates areas. You need to be careful with choosing where to stay to avoid unpleasant weather. We were lucky and almost all days we stayed where sunny with clear view of the Atlantic Ocean and Pena Palace. Another benefit of this house is its unique location. You are very close to the landmarks of the Portugal Riviera, naming Cabo de Roca (the westernmost extent of mainland Eurasian continent), Azenhas do Mar (a small fisherman village with meditational views; it has one of the best fish restaurants in this part of the cost), Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaliera, Palace of Mafra and many many other places to visit… Rita, the owner of the house, is charming and wonderful lady.

All you could wish for (and more)

The property provides a combination of an authentic historical building, tastefully furnishings, a beautiful and quite location and a modern day version of the garden of eden. We really enjoyed learning from the genuinely friendly owner about the interesting history of the place, and if you are botanically inclined (as I am) he can share his extensive knowledge on what is growing in his beautiful collection of mostly local plants. And he is a great source for all the local insider tips. You can enjoy the view from under the vine covered pergola, while collecting some pine nuts for dinner. It is for these rare places of beauty that the German language came up with the word "Fernweh"
