A beautiful villa with lots of space

                            5 of 5
This was our first experience of a villa holiday so we didn't quite know what to expect, but we were not disappointed. We had early morning flights and arrived at the villa earlier than expected. Francisca was there with her team and were more than happy for us to be there whilst they continued to clean and get the villa ready for our stay. We were made to feel very welcome. The villa itself is very clean and well presented. It is larger than we expected and split over three floors. The games room downstairs was an added bonus as was the xbox 360 in the kids bedroom! The outside area was a great space too. The pool was well maintained as a pool cleaner did visit during our stay. The chlorine seemed quite strong though, and our kids did have to wear goggles most of the time. The patio and BBQ area is where we spent most evenings and was such a lovely place to relax. There was only 6 chairs and there was 8 of us so was a little annoying. There is plenty of space to sunbath by the pool in the well maintained garden. The garden has sun all day and the pool starts to get shady late afternoon. The kitchen is more than equipped with everything you need including a dishwasher. There is normally a washing machine too but this was taken away on our second day to be repaired and never returned (we didn't plan to do our washing on holiday anyway)! There are plenty of towels and extra bedding if needed too. Our sheets and towels were also changed in the middle of our 2 week stay. There were 8 people in our party - 4 adults and 4 children. There is so much to keep the kids entertained in this villa we didn't use any of the facilities Oasis Parque had to offer. Oasis Parque itself is made up of mostly villas and apartments. There is a large leisure complex in the centre with swimming pools, tennis courts, a cafe and a reception area where you can book day trips. You can order takeaway from the cafe but have to give 24 hours notice. The leisure facilities are free to use when you stay here. We used a 8 seater taxi to take us out and about. We would hire a car next time. It costs around 13 euros to get to Praia de Rocher and slightly more to get to Alvor. Alvor was our favourite place to visit. It's a traditional Portuguese fishing village and comes alive in the evenings with its restaurants and bars. The beach here is beautiful too. The nearest supermarket is a 20 minute walk away from the villa. We had a fabulous stay muito obrigado to its owner David Norris

Lovely and Unusual Stay on a Sintra Farm

                            5 of 5
Antonio and Luisa's cottage is on a beautiful farm just outside Sintra. Although we found if difficult to find as we are not used to dealing with roundabouts, we were warmly welcomed once we arrived. Antonio surprised us with a much appreciated bottle of wine and food platter, and this extremely kind man even went with us to the supermarket, to ensure we didn't get lost again! The living area of the cottage is small and 'quaint'; the bedroom and bed are comfortable , the kitchen quite adequate. The area in the back with its lovely pool set in the midst of fruit trees and other beautiful vegetation is a great place to start and end the day! Luisa was away so we did not meet her, but Antonio is the most helpful, caring and thoughtful host we have ever encountered. Wonderful stay!
