Pictures do not do justice to this beautiful home and its amazingly landscaped surroundings! The Lodge is truly a treasure. Pictures can't convey the cozy warmth of the Lodge, nor the welcoming atmosphere of twinkling lights, lush plants and flowers, and cascading waters that greet all who come here. It is truly amazing.
When my three cousins and I arrived, we were greeted by the owners, Charlotte and David. They showed us just some of the amenities (including a closet filled with sweaters and jackets should it get chilly) awaiting us inside the Lodge. (We found many more special treats for guests.) They also had a basket of snacks, including, but not limited to: The makings for S'Mores, sticky buns, information on places to see and things to do, and a bouquet of yellow roses for my birthday/anniversary! I have rented homes many times and have never felt so welcomed. My past experience is: An owner's first concern is that the renter do no damage to their property and follow all the rules... which is understandable. This was not the case with David and Charlotte. Their first priority was our comfort, enjoyment and safety.
Inside the Lodge there is a comfortable "study" with a wonderful L-shaped desk where I kept in touch with my business through a house-wide Wi-Fi connection. There is also a free land line to use when the cell service is low. The kitchen, dining and living room area is open space so no one is stuck alone in the kitchen. Each of my cousins had a tastefully decorated, spacious bedroom on the upper level. I had the luxury of the full lower level complete with its own living room, dining area, tv, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and large bedroom.
Outside the Lodge, waterfall sounds; birds chirping (including 2 woodpeckers); flowers; and, ground level sensor lights greet you. The fire pit beckoned to us and was fully stocked with wood. The upper deck was just the place to enjoy morning coffee. On the lower deck, the gazebo invited us to sit and relax with its twinkling lights and comfortable chairs.
We had fun shopping in nearby Tunkhannock. We drove the winding roads of the Poconos and were amazed by the scenic sights, interesting farms, well-groomed lawns and homes, and quaint shops.
The one serious flaw in our stay at the Lodge was.....
It was over before we were ready to leave.
Thank you Charlotte and David!
